Love how Max is effectively saying fuck DRS I wanna destroy everyone au natural plz

That’s pretty honest of him to say, considering in the current regs he’s the one dominating. It’s not often a driver would advocate change if they’re winning.

Removing the hybrid alone will solve weight, size and agility issue.

Lets just run the mid 2000s screamers again

Max's ideas are very good, which is why FIA won't implement them.

As an F1 fan since 1994, I’ve seen multiple generations of F1 car, and the difference in spectacle watching these LORRIES drive around is insane. Cars need to be smaller and lighter. That should be priority number 1 as far as I’m concerned. As for DRS, engines blah blah… I don’t really care, but the cars need to be more agile, and have more room to race.

Love how he is dominating and still suggesting change

He's based. Lighter cars, equal power, smaller tires, no MGU-H and let's go

So basically he'd like to bring back the 2000s F1 cars. I could get behind that! Try and do all the environmental improvements by cutting carbon of logistics and running the tracks

smaller cars, lighter cars, less hybrid batteries, Max is smart

He says what almost everyone who was ever involved in motorsports themselves think.
The last V8 regs were some of the best in history.

if they start using renewable fuel it will be carbon neutral regardless of hybrids or non hybrids

The mark of greatness; he doesn't want what's best for him, he wants what's best for everyone else.

I can't remember if it was one of the top F1 engineers was talking about it on a podcast, but they said that removing the hybrid element would actually improve fuel efficiency because the weight savings would be so huge. Ironically, simplifying and adding lightness with a V8 would be more fuel efficient.

Exactly. Make them smaller, lighter, and let them be powered by NA screamers again. No more of this bullshit. Max is 100% right.

Basically just give us 2004 regs with whatever safety the fia wants to add and we'll have some real racing

Bring back in-race refuelling. It would make the cars lighter (more agile), smaller (makes overtaking easier), and tyres can be made more durable because of it (more aggressive racing).

I think he’s saying he wants a late ‘90s/‘00s F1 car. Todays cars are cool but the tech is becoming so costly and with shrinking budgets it’s hard for teams to develop a car that’s a second per lap slower than the top car

I honestly don't think removing the hybrid component completely is necessary but some of the components should be removed. Having said that, I think many of the aerodynamic components that have been removed these past years. For example, raised noses like the ones before 2014 should come back. Ideally, the aerodynamics should be like the ones in 2008 plus ground effect while also making a few rules to reduce dirty air. V8s are much better engines and they are more reliable than V10s (they also sound better imo) so I'd bring those back too. For the rest, I agree

Pretty much agree with everything. But the safety elements are essential.
