In high school, there was this guy, Tom, who constantly teased me about being quiet and shy. One day, during class presentations, he purposely messed up my project slides just before it was my turn. I was embarrassed, but I kept my cool.

A week later, it was his turn to present, and I noticed he left his USB drive on the table. Instead of tampering with it, I printed out some notes and handed them to him just before his presentation—notes on all the mistakes he’d made in his slides.

He was flustered, and his presentation fell apart because he realized I had been quietly paying attention the whole time. I didn’t have to do anything mean—just proving I was smarter than he thought was the best revenge. He never messed with me again after that.
