its so funny watching snl make fun of a company take this seriously while their own employees are in court for sexual harassment

If Ned has any part in this, I think it just shows how little he cares for Ariel.

So for them, Ariel’s feeling and the impact to their children are seems irrelevant. Great job, SNL

I find it even weird that SNL would even choose to cover this because it is so niche, not many people know who the try guys are, and not many people understand the whole situation. It just seems like "someone" definitely wanted this narrative to be put out there.

Another thing that pissed me off is they made it seem like the affair was just “a kiss” when it was confirmed to be ongoing and repeated. And it is confirmed that he co-wrote the script.

Yeah they definitely missed the point that they kicked him out cause she was an employee, under him, that's forbidden in a work place...

A relatively older boss who is also in charge of HR engaging in a public relationship with an employee is indeed a fireable offense because it puts the company under legal liability (the employee had no recourse since the HR was Ned himself and thus the employee can claim they were under duress).
The SNL writing staff clearly has one or more very toxic men working there. Wasn't watching SNL much these days, won't do it at all anymore.

edit: If you disagree please comment without lying or insulting me (can't believe I have to say that). I never said that the employee had zero choice or was innocent of any wrongdoings so don't twist my words to make a false argument. Concerning Ned, I said "much" older because I had found no official sources on the employee's age (all estimations varied between 22 - 30) and also because any age gap is worsened by the power dynamic. Since then I was provided with a video by user "manager Seijin Stan" confirming the employee's age as 30 so I modified my original comment accordingly.

Between the possibility of his SNL/Yale buddy doing this for him, anyone else remember that he said he liked his college buddies more than the TryGuys?

Wow if Ned actually asked their friend to do this for him then he’s hella petty 😒

This is another case of traditional TV being absolutely scared shitless of internet entertainment. Way to do the opposite of read the room.

It’s sad how like they jump to “at least it’s consensual.” Like that’s a big accolade. 💀

I think they are also minimizing that they were friends. Ariel was also their friend. Ariel also worked with them in the try guys. His "side chick" as snl called her also worked with them and their friend. It would be normal to feel angry and hurt just as a friend, not to mention it could jeopardize their business.

public controversy aside its weird to me that people are so taken aback by a guy being fired for having a secret affair with a subordinate. like there are tons of jobs where you can be fired or at least penalized for having a romantic relationship with one of your employees without informing HR, even non-public facing ones.

If that was his friend, then dang, Ned has awful friends because this became even more viral

This makes snl look so old and out of touch. This had boomer comedian energy

He was the head of HR so she couldn't complain to anyone if it wasn't consensual.

Neds friend, Will Stephen, was in the credits as a writer on this sketch.
