I feel like Eugene was maybe talking more about Ariel than Alex when he said women get more hate than men.

"Ned's infidelity proves that the try guys do not necessarily hold the same values that they claim to represent on screen" I don't think that's fair, if you find out one of your friends is doing something wrong & you stop being friends, their character shouldn't reflect on you. You can only do your best with the information you have.

How is Alex unscathed? Her engagement is broken, her boyfriend broke up with her, a lot of her friends have stopped following her (like YB), she is known across the internet as the other woman, and she will forever be associated with this scandal. That’s not scott free or unscathed.

Eugene deserves some kind of award for his performance. That was man absolutely seething with anger about this whole situation and holding it back for sake of the camera.

I honestly can see how the other 3 only knew after their employees.

-Eugene has his own projects and wasn’t in a lot of videos a while back. We also know he still has private projects going on in the background.

-Keith has his own company where he develops new sauces all the time AND frequently is on tour with Lewberger (hope I spelled it right, sorry if not)

-Zach also has his own company and probably private projects. Plus planning his wedding!

On top of that, we don’t know how much of their work they do in the office vs. home office.

They probably didn’t see just how FREQUENTLY Ned went to lunch with Alex. And the few times they saw, they probably gave their best friend of almost a decade the benefit of the doubt and thought he was like them: a boss in a committed relationship going on a work lunch with an employee he works on projects with. Something they probably do as well. Just on an actually professional level.

So to me it makes sense, that the other employees who were there more regularly AND had more emotional distance to the two parties involved had their suspicions earlier.

To me, Ned was always the odd one. He felt fake while the others do come across as more genuine.

1:48 From what I heard the guys did unfollow Alex. They probably can’t fire due to legal reasons. Plus Eugene was talking about Ariel as well since she’s been getting hate for staying with Ned so far.

This video is messy. 1) to say Alex is walking off unscathed is just not true and ignores any legal repercussions or info we don’t know. 2) the try guys said they knew since Labor Day, buy you make it seem like they knew for years 3) you say he’s been doing it for years yet there’s no real evidence (though id bet Alex isnt the first).

And why are images so often used that don’t correlate with the story being discussed yet you talk about there being an image (Alex’s head on his lap).

Idk man… the last few IO videos I’ve watched have been not very good. They come across rushed, unedited and thought out.

Edit: Ugh then you end off the video by holding the whole group accountable for Ned’s action and calling them all “performative feminists”. This is just gross.

Alex did not emotionally ruined Ariel. NED emotionally ruined Ariel. Alex was part of it, but Ariel is HIS wife. Alex emotionally ruined her fiancé.

And she is not getting out of this on the clear. She lost her fiancé, her job and her reputation. The last time I check, Ariel and Ned were still talking.

It was Ned choice to cheat on his wife, not Alex. If it wasn’t her could be somebody else. He proved not to be as committed as he said.

Jesus you really took what Eugene said about being kind to the women involved and then did the exact opposite

Both of them are in the wrong. Ned should’ve kept it professional and Alex knew Ned was married with two kids and Alex had a whole ass fiancé. Both are dead ass wrong and both honestly deserve the hate they’re getting. You just don’t do shit like that man

I believe they didnt know for three reasons, Ned was not very close to the other guys and rarely hung out with the, they have been saying this a long time. another is the fact that a number of people apparently disliked him that he was around all the time. I think if anyone knew knew for sure they Would have outed him. Last, the way they dealt with this tells me they would have never risked their company like that. Their whole brand is built around not being toxic men, and to have Ned sleeping with a younger woman who is his subordinate would have been a HUGE liability because of the risk of sexual harassment claims. They might have been cool with him but as we can see they would never risk losing all they worked for because he wanted to be a dick

The Try Guys weren’t “defending” Alex, they just haven’t fired her. Which as a company they have no reason to fire her. They fired Nef because he was a face of the company and it was bad PR that could’ve put their business under, especially considering the liability of him having an affair with someone he was a boss of. They denounced and fired Ned because he was her boss, which is the same reason they haven’t fired her.

Honestly they handled this in such a professional way. It could have been way messier then it was and I commend them for how they reacted.

I think that the actions of one should not tarnish the image of the group as a whole. I still believe that the other three guys are genuine hard working people who just got caught up in the sloppy behavior of a friend.

um well no.. they weren't defending Alex nor is she walking away without a scratch... But the side chick is usually blamed and dragged because of what a married man is doing... She's not guilt free but the one with more power and vowed to his wife was NED.

tbh, i’d be pretty pissed if my husband’s coworkers said that they weren’t surprised after he got caught cheating. like these buzzfeed employees want to sneak a word in but don’t realize how shitty it sounds for them to know about his infidelity and not tell his wife. hell, even alex’s fiancé knew and didn’t even tell ariel. ariel deserves so much better from literally everyone.

this is the worst kind of gossip video. just feeding flames and blind speculation with no consideration for the potential effects on real people's lives. gross.

I always found it weird that he was ALWAYS so aggressiv when things did not go his way. Like every failing bake of or challenge he always was so loud, always screaming and wallowing in self-pity. And this was him ON camera...

alex is not walking away without a scratch BUT letting her stay and not firing her is the best move in legal terms. the ball is in her court. she could claim that a) this was not a consensual relationship and ned forced himself on her or smt else or b) she could sue the try guys company for wrongful dismissal because she’s discriminated against due to marital or personal relationship. option b would probably be the more pricey choice. very likely alex will resign on her own. definitely her reputation has taken a hit.

ned and alex should have known better.
