Thank you good sir… went to dealer and they wanted 3000$ to drops the transmission… watched this and it was my starter. Changed it myself. That was the issue. Wow. Thank you.

Thank you for posting this. I sent this to my nephew who owns an auto repair shop and he and the other mechanics could not figure out where the noise was coming from on my 2010 Suburban. He watched this and checked the starter and it was fixed!!! Awesome advice and videos that you’re posting. Thank you.

Thought I had a cracked flexplate and ran into your video. My starter had that exact issue! Just replaced the starter and noise is gone! Thank you for a great video!

Just wanted to say thank you. this is exactly what was the problem with my 08 tahoe. no one could figure out what was causing the noise but I swapped out the starter today and it was exactly as you describe. The bendix loose and just floating around with no tension. saved me a trip to the garage.
THANK YOU!

Great video. I was going crazy trying to find the noise and after I watched your video I checked the starter and bingo. That's the noise. Thanks man. Fyi. My starter is only 3 months old.

Saved me tons of work! Internet and buddies told me flywheel but after I remembered watching your video here, and determining the flywheel was good, I removed the starter to find it loose. New starter and all is well. Thanks 👍

Awesome brotha. I do believe it's my starter that I hear hitting the flywheel.

You may have just nailed this for me finally. I have a 2015 2500 HD with the 6.0. I noticed if I tapped the starter the noise would stop for a moment. It's a random "tin can in the wind" noise that doesn't change with acceleration. I ruled out the catalytic converter. I guess I should pull it off and check it out!

Replaced two cats and left the rally muffler shop with a rattling noise coming from what I think is the transmission. Found something suggesting in the torque converter..wish I went to this guy for his honest business.

That solenoid may be my issue, I'm not getting nothing but the starter free spinning each time I try and crank the engine, thanks for the clarity.
