We all need this mechanic. Someone who actually takes the time to diagnose a simple problem- and honest too!

My 2015 Sierra 5.3 developed a tick which I assumed was a lifter. Then I ran into this video. Lifted the hood and #6 coil wire was hanging loose. I couldn't believe it, I pushed the wire back on and the tick was gone! Thanks for the video!

I had an honest mechanic once who also undercharged me for something he fixed. I know it took him a fair amount of time to diagnose the problem, but he only charged me parts and a minimal number of hours. When you find an honest mechanic, keep them if you can.

Mt lm7 was doing the same thing. Last night I looked at all spark plugs. The shop that worked on my truck last put all spark plugs in finger tight. 7 of the 8 plugs tighten down. My tick is gone. I'm glad I came across your content. I was about to order a cam, and lifter kit for no reason. You just saved me over 500 bucks and the work.

I recently changed my spark plugs and wires at the dealership. It was running very smooth, suddenly yeserday I noticed this ticking noise, Lifter failure was the first thing that came to my mind. I saw your video . I want to thank you personally. one of the sparkplug wires were loose at the coil end ( the wire next to the dip stick ). Thank you Sir

I have been working on vehicles since the 70's. I always start any diagnosis with a visual inspection. I have saved alot of parts/time and customers by doing this. You have impressed me!

I had the same thing happen on an '18. I immediately suspected an exhaust manifold leak or failed lifter until the vehicle was here and I could hear the noise. Same scenario, ticking that sounded like spark but lacking a significant misfire. Good job man!

Saved a guy ton of money.brought his GMC to us for second opinion, other shop told him he needed motor. We found one bad spark plug that was tapping like lifter noise. Replaced the one plug charged him nothing sent him down the road. Earned a good customer.

Thank you for your video! This started on my 2014 yesterday. Watched your video last night, went out this morning and it was the same exact wire, exactly like in your video. I subbed and want to thank you sir!! You saved me a lot of money, because here in Florida, you can’t find anyone trustworthy and honest to have diagnosed it without charging an arm and a leg for something I didn’t need.

This is the way things should be done. The mechanic will have this customer and by word of mouth have even more because of the honesty he reflects. Nice job a fellow mechanic.
