1) There are no must have foods. If someone tells you there are, then dont listen to that person because they are full of it
2) Yes they are a healthy source of fats but if your goal is weight loss you have to be careful with portions because avacados are calorie dense. Same goes with nuts, nut butters, olive oil. All healthy fats but calorie dense you have to manage your portions.
