My best friend’s father was kidnapped to a Catholic boarding school in Canada as a child. He suffered horrific atrocities there. He was Mi’kmaq. He struggled most of his life with the trauma he endured there. The school he was taken to was the first one they discovered mass graves of children. He suffered a horrible death after a lifetime of mental health struggles.
It’s unforgivable what was done to the beautiful Native peoples. The generational trauma is real and needs to be recognized. As a country we should be doing everything possible to help them regain their traditions, languages and GOOD land. Not like most reservations located in toxic areas. Most, not all. Can you imagine what a slap in the face Mt. Rushmore is to the Lakota people?

"Why would they take you?" As a mother, as a granddaughter of a survivor from Canadian Residential Schools...that line made in my heart ache.

Look what they did to our babies.

Watching her story is so heartbreaking. It helped me to understand why my great grandmother never taught her children to speak Cherokee. I am learning to speak it now to honor her memory.

I am a Catholic, but I am deeply ashamed at the actions of the priests and nuns who have abused the Native Americans. They are supposed to be stewards of God's creation...but they turned out to be abusers...monsters...slaves to their emotions. On behalf of Catholics striving to live out our faith with love and justice, I deeply apologize to the Native Americans for the harm caused by some priests and nuns in the past.

Well that's just another reason why some people do NOT believe in "organized" religion.
People don't need to drop money 💵 in to a collection plate every single time you visit a church.
Just start talking "your" god will here you.
And unfortunately praying and prays are not always answed exactly how we would like.
Who is to say that all religion
Is not all taking to the same being that just takes different forms depending on how you worship.
God, Jesus, Alla, multiple Egyptian god's, etc....
All religion has common threats that people refuse to see.
And the other thing is because there are so many different languages, people refuse to here what is being said.
But they all are saying bacicaly the same things.
