Theory and movement look simple enough.
Now it's only practice, getting used to it, try different positions in my hand, adjust the pressure, analyse it and start again until I got it down.

One big thing that breaks it often for me: The smoothness of the cards. A newer deck will be much easier to handle for this than a used / old deck because.
My deck is only a week old but I can already see that it isn't as smooth as an unused deck anymore.

I keep having a stop of a big pile of cards in my hand at the end

Personally I have found the key for me to be applying more pressure with the hand that is fanning the cards. so if you're holding them in your left hand apply more pressure than you'd think with your right hand when you fan them

Just for fyi, it took me almost a year to get this move down.just keep practicing people!it will come eventually. Muscle memory..that's all it is but it will take time.

So, what do you do with your left hand? You just show us how to do it perfectly, but some of us are stuck. You don't say how hard to hold the cards with your left hand. Is the pressure only in the middle or the whole thumb? Do you vary the pressure as you do it? Do you have to do it at a certain angle to get it to fall right? What if we are having problems, how do we fix it? Very frustrating, no one speaks about the left hand and its roll. Does it not matter? Can you put any pressure?

I feel like it's more than essential to tell people you can only do this move with a new-ish deck of cards any deck that is well worn in will not fan well at all.

Step 1: grab the deck
Step 2: push with thumb
Step 3:
Step 4: profit

Tips: if you don't succeed in making the fan, turn the cards a bit and do the same thing and fail the same way.

Congrats you got through the tutorial.

How about thips on how to get the last third to spread?
