It would’ve been interesting if Tony’s death was a fake out and strange did something like this but reviving Tony would undo the action of him snapping so another character would have to snap right after the fact. I think for a full circle arc, strange should’ve froze time and while he did, Thor gets in shape and dusts Thanos’ army and forces Thanos to watch before he kills him. Then after that, Tony’s experience with dying and coming back officially puts him in retirement but he also suffers from memory loss, he doesn’t remember anything that’s happened since infinity war and has no recollection of having a daughter or the effects of the blip.

If he uses the time stone to revive him he reverses the snap effect as well

due to a popular theory strange made tony die on purpose. It was because thanos told tony that "you are not the only one who is cursed with knowledge". If you look the thanos in the beginning of the endgame which has sacrificed gamora for the stone is a calm and wise person meanwhile the one who has came from the past is an aggresive titan. Because of the knowledge thanos is cursed with and that he sacrificed gamora he started to look different to the universe. And if tony lived he would make new inventions and would have access to any earth on the multiverse which could lead him to be a bad guy and also be the strongest creature in the whole multiverse. Im pretty sure dr strange found hundreds and hundreds of ways to kill thanos through all those millions of possibilities. But all those was letting tony live and lead to the scenarion ive just said about. So he made this scenario where tony dies while taking thanos with him.
