Keep the different pitches (in this format) coming!! Helps the younger kids understand what the balls are actually doing that causes movement and also the importance of masking the different pitches so they look the same early out of the hand. Great work!

Man, I really like this guy. Wish he was still in the league. How many other pitchers do you see making videos like this to help kids out.

Love this. As a minor leaguer myself who has been messing around with a cutter this really helps visual what shape and data I’m looking for. Keep it up man.

I don’t play baseball, never have, and don’t even watch baseball but your breakdowns are fascinating to watch and your vlog is killer.

Three things. 1. 2022 NL Cy Young. 2. Well incorporated Tatis joke. 3. You made this video right when I was trying to learn a cutter. Amazing video!

Thanks Trevor for doing these videos, they help me out so much when teaching my son & my little league team.

Awesome graphics. This is pretty much how I visualize pitching anyway. It's just tremendous repetition and determination, research, experimenting, etc to get the ball to spin consistently with a comfortable enough grip. Each pitcher has a natural advantage for certain spin, and they gotta really foster that into a working combination that fools hitters. Hearing ohtani and gausman and others speak about blisters forming from snapping the ball seams so hard it helps explain that .0001 of a second during the pitcher's release. I love how u mentioned the way the ball 'feels like' it's leaving your hand is going to be different than how it is really leaving your hand. Film is the key to matching that grip feel to spins, hand rotation, alignment of wrist to forearm and so forth. God it must be so satisfying to throw a pitch that perfectly breaks how you command it to.

You're a professor of pitching science...I hope you get back on the mound soon...if not you are a future pitching coach for sure

I fixed my cutter watching this video and it made me understand why it doesn’t curve sometimes

Terrific! Thank you. The best part is watching the initial similarity in fight paths and then the divergence - and how/when you can use that to deceive hitters.

This is great, Trevor. So thorough and explained with such expertise. Awesome graphics, too. Wish there was something like this when I was a kid.

Wondering if in future videos you could focus a little more on how you grip the ball and the hand/arm action you use. I realize you said that the specific grip is not that important, but I think it would be cool to get a closer look, with the ball in your hand, at exactly how you’re gripping the ball and where you’re applying pressure.

I don’t play baseball but I imagine there’s some really good young pitchers that will spend hours pouring over this video. You’re the man for putting these out. Trevor Bauer is for the people 🙌

Thank You. I can hear the passion in your voice that you have for pitching. Can't keep a passion like that down. I
appreciate you sharing.

My gawd finally! Someone explaining pitches on a real level!! Even for Bauer this was extraordinary and his tips are usual that!. Only thing I’d say maybe slow down explaining some of the info not the visual part, but speaking part. Dunno if TB went over this but like to hear dynamics on catcher, pitcher. Strange how some pitchers only work with certain catchers but then some pitchers are really flexible on catchers…

i threw a cutter 40% of the time in high school and college. this is exactly my thought process in throwing the cutter. without gravity in effect, i would try to actuate the spin of the ball to keep the ball in the upper left quadrant as a RHP. this is very well articulated, trevor. well done. I always tried to implement a pitch type to match each quadrant in my pitching arsenal.

Super cool to be able to see the slow motion and be educated about this technology.

Awesome overlays. I enjoy the science and the mental chess game with the hitter. Glad to see a cutter in action. Most videos don’t do this pitch justice.
