HEY TONY AND EVERYBODY ELSE! If you did not know, the movie that was never released about the 1975 500cc MX national championship, "One chance to win", is on YT right now.

This quickly became my favorite YouTube channel. My only complaint is that you don't upload enough

Know what I would LOVE to see more of? Enduro bikes, European/oddball bikes (especially Enduro editions and stories of hard fought, famous enduro races. I bought some of your merch, they are good quality shirts.

I get so happy when there's a new upload and then I get so depressed when it's over and I have to wait for another one

I dreamed to have a 05 or 06 KX250. I have a 98 very torquey and powerful. Would like to have one of these years with the rocket ship power band hit. Another awesome video Tony thank you

Never had a kx250, but I always smile when I see one. Great video!
The Kawis command quite the premium out here on the west coast.

The 05-07 were my favourite years for the Kawis !
But hands down the 07 was my favourite but the 05s still have that special 0lace with me !

My biggest memory of one of these is James getting worked in the 05 outdoors on one. Cool bike but by that time it was outclassed by the four strokes of the competition.

Always interested to see what bike or bike history is next!

Your technical expertise is on point as always! Very interesting to hear all these details, year to year changes in engine etc. Most people dont realize how much research and work goes behind getting an additional 4 horsepowers.

That's a great looking bike. I think it would be a big hit if it came out today! Great video🔥🤘

The cylinder tilted toward the rear. I noticed that on my 2019 YZ250 compared to my great 97KX and earlier bikes. From what I can see, I don't think they did it to make the exhaust tract longer only. Tilting the cylinder back also centralized mass a bit better with the cylinder being back, I would say about 7 degrees, but also because the radiators were able to be brought inboard of the frame down tube, and lower about 2". I don't know if they found much gain. They must have found benefit (Longer to get to a round pipe is logical.), because they could have made the pipe to reach the standard tract length, (but they were making a new cylinder casting anyway.). It was a pretty good jump for mass centralization.

If I remember correctly the 05 - 07 the kx 250 two stroke the cylinder was basically the yz250 cylinder, I believe Suzuki did this as well on their last few generations of their 250. I love my Kawis but I do agree I had a 2000 kx 250 and it was definitely slower than my brothers 01 Cr 250.

10:17 Now I know gaining 2 lbs/year does not sound like a lot you are getting heavy, but after about 20 years, (and not riding), it all adds up, and that shock spring looks like it came from a ball point pen compared to the one I put on my YZ250. lol
I raced at about 180;bs for about a decade, usually put in stiffer fork springs. But I admit, when I got a bike again, the bike balance because of some extra weight, (before and after setting the sag with the stock springs), made the bike more unbalanced by far than I had ever experienced in my life, (plus the YZ 2-strokes are too tall today, so I lowered it a bit. Niiice corners now.), and it threw me for a loop for a while. The bike was un-ride-able stock with the extra 40lbs, (lost some), and it was very alien to me. I have it working great now.

As I know the guy who owns the last ever 2008 KX250 to leave the KHI KX # 'm2' production line, everything said here by Tony concerning the 2005 KX250 is 100% CORRECT!

Although correct for the 2005 model, the last ever 2008 model built ended up being a bit different.
First thing you notice is its front and rear fenders being covered with signitures from all the production line technicians, to the CEO and other executives there on the day on the fuel tank.
The next you notice is the different decals which were initially planned for the 2009 KX250 if it was to be produced.
Then you notice all of the special parts, all factory fitted (confirmed on buildsheet paperwork) from the KRT Dept and Kawasaki major sponsors like Pro Circuit pipe & muffler, DID rims, DID chain, Renthal bar, Fastway pegs, and heaps more including a box of spares.. (100 stickers, 20x DID sprockets, chains, 10x pistons, 20 x sets rings, 10x muffler packs, AND yes the original front and rear fenders to fit for riding so keep signed ones safe)

One thing not mentioned by Tony is that the 2005 to 2008 model KX250s parts were interchanagable with many of the 2007-2013 KXF450s..

Awesome video Tony, keep up great vids mate!

Tony man. Can you find a review of my first dirt bike? That would be wonderful.
It was a 1972 Honda CL100, left on the showroom floor for 2 years and bought new in 1974 for $300.00. A Christmas present to my brother and I, (just moved to a rural area full of Mini-enduro 60's.). Because my father had no idea what he was looking for, I bought all my bikes after that. It would mean a lot to me. Thank you.
:)

Do a 2005 rm250!!! I currently own one, and I'd love to see how it stacked up that year. A 2005 250 shootout review would be awesome!!!
