Monday Noon Tropical Update: Storm could reach Florida Thursday as a hurricane

A developing storm will enter the Gulf of Mexico this week and likely head toward Florida. As of Monday morning the tropical disturbance was in the formative stages in the northwest Caribbean. It will continue to organize as it approaches the Yucatan Channel in the coming days.

By Wednesday, it looks like we will have a named storm and perhaps a hurricane in the southern Gulf of Mexico. The steering currents will begin to change Wednesday as an upper trough over the deep south pulls the system north and slightly northeast towards Florida. This setup will allow the storm to grow stronger, and it could very well be a major hurricane as it nears landfall Thursday. Overall, the concern level for Louisiana is decreasing, but we'll keep an eye on the system as it enters the Gulf by late Tuesday into Wednesday.

Attention..Please Share...Anybody with pets, please keep them inside and safe. If you leave, take them with you. If you see strays and are able, please have a heart and give them shelter. Help save those unable to save themselves. These poor furbabies don't deserve to die. Every life matters, every soul counts. God Bless!

Please, everyone! It happens every time! People get their homes ready, their families ready, they get the water and the plywood and stuff like that, then when they're ordered to evacuate their pets get left behind because they weren't ready!
If you know anybody at all in the bullseye of this storm, please call or text them and tell them to get their pets ready now! If you have four pets you should have four carriers! Don't wait till the last minute and then try to stuff three cats in a carrier or something cruel like that. Or worse, leave them behind.
I once read a book by a woman who was the head of an organization that went in after these storms to try and rescue animals left behind and some of the stories she told scarred me for life. Please get your pets ready now. Please, everybody tell everybody else 😰
