You can also do this by directly going to Default Apps by typing "default apps" without quotes at Start Menu.

for some reason when I go to select Firefox it doesn't do anything. I click on the icon in the drop down menu and it doesn't change my default browser...I have no idea what to do. Can anyone give me some info?

If there is no default app option search on your search bar "DEFAULT APPS" and this works to me

I followed you but under System, I don't have any "Default Apps" option, instead I see Shared Experiences, Remote Desktop or Projecting to this PC, that I don't see under your System options. Has windows 10 changed these tabs and options?
