Worm castings are great especially on house plants. Both cow and horse manure should be composted, especially horse or you'll have a great crop of weeds.

Wow really good stuff. My area in the deep South USA is all synthetic and chemical based ag. I grew up partly in the Midwest in vibrant dutch community in Iowa. Most farms there were and are family owned small farms that raise both crops and livestock together and they really use all the good that this combination brings.

Dear Lilly,
thank your for this Video. I used to this work because in former times my mother had a big garden.
But your videos are very good to enrich my vocabulary in gardening.
Thank you.

Earthworms are great for a garden. An added bonus, when you are digging a robin may turn up to grab any worms you expose. Every garden should have a robin - the UK's national bird!

Do you ever have problems with persistent herbicide residue in the horse manure? In the US (and the UK) ythe problem is becoming so bad we can't trust manures and hay since the herbicide remains through several processes that would generally break down the herbicide molecules ad wen used in the garden, this stuff kills or deforms plants. Just curious if your country was smart enough to outlaw 2-4D herbicide and aminipyralids. My garden was tainted this spring and while I didn't get a tomato crop I was able to learn some remediation techniques and share about it. I hope you don't have to worry about it because I really like your channel (found you from your other channel) and hope you succeed.

Chicken manure. Egg producers have truckloads full of it. Very popular here in Oregon.

Low tech, INDOOR GROWING in GrowBox by The Garden Patch under LED grow lights works great, year-round. However, the soil Sphorgum Moss requires fertilizer and organic is an option. I find the choice of fertilizer has an effect on the flavor of radishes and carrots, especially. Natural soils seem important to me and hard to do in the house. Some odors are not great and earthworms are mobile creatures. Continuous production eliminates storage and everything eaten is fresh-picked. You should try this method and develop fertile soil. How can I help? Totally immune to the climate.

In Siberia we do not use horse manure, only cow manure

Lilly's doing this right. Horse poo is perfect for your soil. We have a briddleway next to our garden and sometimes horses drop something. But we put water in first, , dissolve it and drown the compost with it. Hardcore tipp: Rhubarb really likes human poo...

i guess there are rules and regulations how to mix the compost, here in sweden there are some rules to stay by. you can put your garden waste in the compost, but if you put your household waste in it, rules. a permit and a special container that keep the rodents and other vermin out.

Here in this part of the N of Spain, what's most common, it's the cow shit; the people have cows and make their own milk or there're large farms with cows to produce milk in an industrial way and they sell the cows shit too so it's what most people use on their fields. Dk how or what they do on the rest of Spain, i know that in the S/SE they use chemical fertilizers and after some years they kill the fields so they've to change what they grow on 'em until they can't produce anything any more; so they leave those dead fields and sell 'em as industrial soil or for build warehouses. Thanks "to God" that i live in the part of Spain where it still rains, but this is changing and it's doing it pretty fast; i think that we're already screwed and that it'll get worst.
