Researchers in Singapore have found a way to turn any mask into a smart mask that can detect symptoms of COVID-19. The invention uses sensors to track vital signs like heart rate and body temperature in real time, and it could eventually cost less than $20 to produce. The team from Nanyang Technological University and A*STAR thought of the idea in March, and they are now running tests in areas like durability and accuracy.

People are already sick of wearing masks but they have to wear to protect themselves. Adding this feature is going to make it even more cumbersome and uncomfortable.
