What was your experience of discovering you or your child was dyslexic? Any advice you'd give others?

For myself diagnosed with dyslexic i never said to myself i am dyslexic and don't make any excuses to not learn..
.
I love to read books even though not easy to read it takes me 6 months to read a book.
I always said to myself this stuff is just small thing and i can cope with it. After that i able to write in alphabetical order sometimes issues happend then i ask my team to correct it.
.
I learn through music, and visual... Being dyslexic is not easy at the childhood phase and now i am 21 years old and a leader to a business group that teaches many people about business even though i sometimes i can't speak so well but i always keep learning.
.
Thanks for being dyslexic i can think differently from normal people.
