I am a Filipino and I just have to say, I love how you gave your review on the pageant in its entirety. It was fair, it was greatly analyzed and you shared your suggestions/critiques without resorting to any bashing or negativity. I just love, love, love the whole video. My only comment is that I wish your video was longer because I would love to hear more of your thoughts/opinions (oh, and probably photos each candidate as you were talking about them). Great job! :-)

Watching this as part of my 2020 binge.

Everything about Pia is just raw and real with zero pretenses. She was not the best walker, not the most conventionally attractive, but she was very much a fighter who was unfazed by the criticism and always knew how to come back from a slip up or setback. The way she handled the entire controversy after the crowning mishap PROVED that the crown was really hers. While some people in Colombia were burning effigies of her in their streets, while many people were bashing her for looking less like the typical glamazon winner, and while the media was constantly asking her probing questions about Miss Colombia over any topic such as her win and her plans during her reign, she STAYED CONSISTENTLY HUMBLE and NEVER RETALIATED OR SPOKE ILL OF ANYONE IN ANY WAY. She really was and still is a CLASS ACT. And now, she is one of the few Miss Universes who are still actually living by their final anwers - still working with the UN as an international AIDS awareness ambassador YEARS after her reign, there is absolutely NO DOUBT that she truly deserved to win. She actually has so many fans due to her authenticity and unconventional beauty, it's just that her bashers are, as expected, desperately louder. The crown looked made especially for her, that gown is iconic, and that answer was one of the most memorable and most quoted in the pageant history. Confidently beautiful with a heart INDEED.

I'm happy you did not focus on the blunder thing in this pageant..i thought also that brazil did an amazing job on swimwear but her face was dull.. i love miss usa gown but not in white maybe in red. i also saw the hunger for miss philippines to get the crown specially when she was called in the top 3..she put her hands in her heart and say "oh my god"...so humble and well deserved

Nice recap, thank you. When you were talking about Miss Philippines at the end I was kind of moved because that's how I felt about her too. She was just so genuine and modest. I was glad she won. She definitely deserved to win. I liked Miss Curacao as well. Miss Ireland for me had the most beautiful face. I also liked Miss Russia's unique and striking beauty. Miss USA, Miss Brazil and Miss Turkey were my other favorite beautiful faces. I live in Japan so I had been rooting for Miss Japan.

I have enjoyed your video and your review is very sensible. I love your suggestions. And although it's already been a week (almost a week) after the controversial night, I still can't get over it ... I still watch videos of the coronation night and reviews and reactions. I guess I really am a pageant fanatic ... and oh well, proud of what Pia has accomplished for the Philippines in this competition. I believe that with what happened, people are going to look at Ms.U pageant now in a different perspective. Clearly, it has an impact on both Pia and Ariadna and I'm sure that they will both do well in each ventures after the mixed-up.
