I’m layering my fragrances all the time. That’s the existing way to create your own the easy way. My advice is go opposite- sweet with green notes, spicy with sweet, pouderish with white floral. It’s will work perfectly ❤️.

At Nordstrom I layered the new Tom ford smoked cherry over TF ombre leather. That slight smokey cherry just added a nice bit of sweetness to the sweet dark leather.

You are absolutely right suggesting keeping the scents in their groups, because you can get fragrances that just don't compliment or merge together well, and it can bring out the wrong note and amplify it. I realised that putting on my two favourite perfumes on together doesn't guarantee success, so good advice!

Currently layering a citrus woody floral and a vainilla floral fragance, it is a chef kiss for me ❤❤❤❤

I layer my fragrances completely different. I top off fragrances that are too "base-y" with citruses, florals or vanilla, something that brightens them up. Ouds that feel a little like one-note fragrances might need a lift with something like a light floral musk or just a touch of a gourmand cake fragrance perhaps. Very light fragrances might need a better base. I usually notice good layering alternatives by coincidence, like after lunch when my morning fragrance starts to wear off but is still there and I spray something else on. I would never combine two fragrances from the same category.

Your layering recommendation of Gris Dior with Parfums Vintage Imbue to this day is one of my most complimented layering combos hands down. I never fail to get at least 2-3 compliments every single time. Pure genius recommendation.

I tried both MFK Grand Soir and Kilian Can’t Stop Loving You separately and was less than enthralled but when I layered them together this evening, I was simply blown away. I can’t stop sniffing! I’m very new to this and late to the game so I hope this layering combination makes ‘scents’ (pardon the pun)? I’ve layered Gris Charnal Extrait by BDK with On a Date by Maison Margiela and oh my….. the fig was amplified and soooo lovely
