Today we are looking at the new Viparspectra P1000 & P1500 grow lights.
These lights are Viparspectra's newest addition to their great line of products. We were sent these lights to test and review, so that is what we have done in this video.

To start I was overall pleased with my first impressions of this new quantum board grow light. The days of blurple have come and past and Viparspectra has listened. I have used their fan-cooled blurple series on my last grow and had decent results but lacked any real efficiency. I was happy to see the company listening to its customers and staying on trend with this new highly efficient SMD technology. Similarly to their previous grow lights, I noticed they took time to try and make something very sturdy and durable.

The new pro series P1000 and P1500 grow lights are very well constructed. They use an all metal frame and housing that is much stronger than other quantum boards I have tested. There is also a well designed heat sink built into the frame in the form of grooves that help dissipate heat. They also took the consideration to add brackets to the driver so that it does not sit flush on the board and there is some room between the two helping lower the overall heat produced. This grow light is not fan cooled, like all the other quantum board grow lights currently on the market, so without proper ventilation and circulation in your grow space they will run fairly hot.

In order to determine how efficient the P1000 & P1500 grow lights from Viparspectra really are I conducted PAR testing on both units and have included detailed PAR maps of each. The PAR test was completed in a non-reflective environment which shows the minimum PAR values you would expect to achieve with these lights. Please note that manufacturers test within reflective mylar environments which shows the maximum PAR levels you would achieve which is why there are some variations in our numbers vs theirs. Both lights were tested in a 3' by 3' area taking a total of 36 PAR measurements each. The detailed PAR maps are included throughout the video so feel free to pause the video to take a closer look. #viparspectra

In terms of overall efficiency, the Viparspectra Pro Series P1000 resulted in a PPFD/J rating of 1.74. The PPFD rating for the Viparspectra Pro series P1500 came in at 1.73 PPFD/J making their efficiency rating virtually identical among each unit.

Just got P1000 other day and I really love it for my 2×2×4 tent. The plants instantly started to flower and are looking great. Great light for growers to purchase

I bought a couple of the P-4000s, and they are sexy. The claims are BS, but they all are. I like the aesthetics of the light. I'm a fairly new LED grower, and I've grown under Mars, Viparspectra, and Spider Farmer. They all work, but the Viparspectras look good while they work :)

I started with viparspecta definitely looks like they are going in the right way

Wow. Just seen these lights recently and happy to see a review so quickly. Vipar coming up with the low end quantum tech similar to Mars and Spyderfarmer. Heatsink is a plus too. Thanks for posting.

I used my Famurs 1200 in a 3x3, ,,it’s 15.2 inch wide and 14.3 inches long, ,,,covered my 3x3 fine flowered 6 plants to harvest

Great review brother. I'm holding out for the 250 watters. But yes crazy good PAR. We've always dropped the v300s and v600s down another inch or 2 in mid flower to dense up the colas. They do get pretty warm. Same as every other QB style light tho. The real use of dimmer instead of a screw driver and kilowatt meter is gonna extend the make extending the life of the light much longer for growers. I know so many who just leave their QBs turned all the way up and hanging the light much higher. Negating the dimming capabilities which extends the life of the light. Simply because they didn't like the idea of poking a screw driver into a electronical device or simply got lazy and skipped out on the kilowatt meter.
Anyways great review. Thanks so much.

My buddy just finished a single plant super silver haze in a 2x3 tent with the 1500. Dried weight before curing was 9.35 ounces. I am about to order one for a rdwc grow and shooting for 10+ ounces in a 2x3

Just picked up a p1500 the other week... It screams good budget quality. Hope Viparspectra dont slack off as they gain popularity.

Think iv asked on a another of your videos.. but would 2 p1000s do a 4x4? Says 1 does 2 x 2 ? I'm trying to get equivalent of a 600hps sort of results

There's no daisy chain connection for the pri models for some reason, so would you just need to run extension cords of every single light? Or put in an outlet for every single light? I need 4 of them i wish i could at least connect 2 together...

Would this keep a 6 and 1/2 ft Meyer lemon tree alive in the winter

Is this too bright to be used in one's living room, for plants on a metal shelf ? Can I just put some kind of reflector or opaque sheet around the shelf to block the light?

Nice review!! would the 1500 be good for a 32x32x63 tent? or would I be losing too much area during flower

Would you recommend the P1500 for 24x24x48 grow tent from seed to harvest?

I always mount my driver outside of the tent with its own fan and the driver temperature stays around 75 or less
