We buy most of our stuff from the country which identifies itself as our worst enemy. How smart is that?

If dictators were smart, they wouldn't be dictators.

Yes, they are! War is often used to deflect from domestic issues of which China has many!

It’s amazing how India is used as an ally of America when talking about a coalition against China, but also as a member of the “Brics” alliance as an ally with China against America. It’s almost like people with their own motives pick and choose whichever one is more helpful to their ulterior motives.

China has never caused trouble but is not afraid of it. China has never provoked a war, no matter how weak the other party is, but it has never been afraid of war, no matter how strong the other party is. China has always been peace-loving and has never engaged in foreign wars or stationed troops abroad, but it has always been discredited.

The real question : is america stupid enough to provoke them?

I would say Chinese leadership is not as dumb as the Russian one but I might be wrong. What is happening in Ukraine is a good deterent for a war with Taiwan. Taiwan has a logistics problem but an excellent natural protection. And any war would create an inmediate worldwide economic recession.

Explain about what is the situation about Taiwan and China now:
In all historical evidence (except those written by CCP), the CCP has never ruled Taiwan for any day in history, never.
About 70 years ago, after the Japanese government returned Taiwan to the Taiwanese government, it has been ruled by Taiwan's own government (ROC). The CCP claims that Taiwan belongs to China because a "former Chinese regime" once owned it a long time ago. (an ancient government about hundreds of years ago). But in fact, if you want to use the strange fallacy of the CCP to explain "who does Taiwan belong to", strictly speaking, Taiwan's relationship with Japan is definitely closer than that of the CCP. Of course, most Taiwanese people like the current government very much and do not consider themselves Japanese or Chinese.

Taiwan's latest poll in 2024 shows that 72.1% of people consider themselves Taiwanese, not Chinese, nor CCP people.

According to the analysis of most scholars, CCP covets Taiwan just because they want to seize Taiwan's important strategic position and Taiwan's world's number one semiconductor industry to control the world's semiconductors.
All these are excuses made up by them. Taiwan is Taiwan and it is an independent country.
Most countries do not dare to resist the CCP out of fear. In fact, 95% of countries today treat Taiwan as an independent country.

In about 70 years, Taiwan has its own independent constitution, passport, president, military, tax system, education, and diplomatic missions.  Such as everything that every independent country should have, and 12 countries have recognized this fact.
Although it still needs work, the fact is that it is truly an independent country.

In addition, Taiwan is the country with the highest degree of democracy and freedom in Asia. During the election, each people chooses with one vote. The process is extremely transparent. Many new democratic governments will even come to Taiwan to learn this system. China is a dictatorship. They even have an internal network and cannot see the outside world online.

In addition, Taiwan's passport is one of the most practical passports in the world, and it has obtained visa-free treatment for 144 countries, while China's passport has only 55.
When you travel overseas, at the customs at each country's airport, they will ask Chinese and Taiwanese to go to different channels, and tell you "You are Taiwanese, please go there and queue up (usually a convenient automatic customs clearance system)" ), and the Chinese need to join the long line. If you are a Taiwanese, would you want to be unified by China?

China cannot be a power, this is a great exaggeration. In fact, China is still in a position where it wants to be stronger than it is. This will take a lot of time for it to become a strong country.

The regime in Beijing reminds me exactly of my government I experienced behind the Iron Curtain in East Germany...in both cases there is a Politburo and in both cases the rulers are absolutely not interested in the opinions of their people...on the contrary, the 'right' opinion is dictated to you from above. If an opposing opiniln is expressed publicly, it could have very serious consequences for you...here as there, the state is all-powerful, omnipotent and omnipresent. Classmates of mine were imprisoned for expressing a different opinion in public. Snitches reported this to the police and they arrested the person. And the ordinary citizen had no way of counteracting this. It was horrible.

Dont think so. Chinese are very pragmatic people. Look at history... between USA, UK, Russia and China... pick out the country that has never involved itself in any warfare with another nation.... China. They just want to defend their sovereignty.

Trouble is China’s military has very little experience.

With my tinfoil hat securely on I’ve thought for years that part of the reason the USA gets involved in so much military activity worldwide is to gain experience and see what works and what doesn’t. China doesn’t do this, so may be over-inflating their military’s capabilities.

As for Taiwan, China’s main interest is Taiwan’s world’s number one semiconductor industry. Perhaps if Taiwan made it clear that an invasion would lead to the destruction of the entire semiconductor industry in Taiwan China may be less interested in invading.

Boots on the ground are important in any conflict and right now China doesn’t have the capability to successfully put boots on the ground on Taiwan’s beaches.

Also, a lot of China’s equipment are copies or upgrades of Russian kit that’s shown to be crap!

I had a few mates in the British army. They all said that if it come to it America could probably fight the whole planet put together on there own. I have no idea if they are right but to say it must mean something

The narrator makes the mistake of thinking it's just China vs. USA, when it's really China vs USA, Australia and Japan. That's why China is hesitant about attacking Taiwan.
