Home Secretary Suella Braverman has been accused of asking civil servants to help her avoid a speeding fine and a driving awareness course alongside other motorists by arranging a private session instead.

The Prime Minister declined to answer when asked if she had his backing - as our political correspondent Rob Powell reports.

The “Cover up” is often more damaging then the actual incident. A minor incident can be attributed to a single moment of misjudgment. Covering up the incident shows a willful effort to deceive.

Please let's get these raving narcissists out of power and take back the country for us, not the rich, and their foreign corrupt friends and family. We need it to be a crime to lie to the public if an MP. The only reason they lie is because we let them.

It’s not about a speeding fine row, it’s about abuses of power

The standard fine would be nothing to her anyway. I guess she did not want to group session in case she got dirty mixing with the plebs

She's broken many ministerial codes previously how comes she isn't getting sacked and the others did?

He said he does not know the full story but he knows enough to say that’s she’s expressed regret for speeding and then after exhausting all avenues to get away with it she finally accepted the fine. This women is in a habit of breaking rules ministerial codes and whatever else she can get away with. The fact she asked the civil servant to find a way to do her personal business is enough to say the least! I remember few years back a minister tried to have his mrs tahr the penalty points for him and when he got caught out he had to resigned. If the ministers are dodging the system than what hope have we got!

I’m not a conservative but this isn’t a scandal. Come on. Imagine going to a speed awareness course and seeing the Home Secretary there.

LoL, Whether he want's to or not...Rishi is a ONE TERM (and not even a FULL TERM) Prime Minister, who will have the privilege of seeing the Tories go down in defeat in 2024.

I don’t understand what the issue is. She’s a prominent figure so when offered a course, she was willing to do the course but 1:1. She took the points, paid the fine and got on with her job. I can see why she tried to arrange a 1:1 course but can’t understand why this is even making the news 🤷🏾‍♀️.
