Rishi Sunak refuses to apologise for Britain's slavery record

The UK prime minister has said he will not apologise for Britain's record on slavery because 'trying to unpick our history' is not the right approach.

The Labour MP Bell Ribeiro-Addy asked Sunak to give a 'full and meaningful apology' and commit to reparatory justice.

Fun fact, Black Barbary pirates used to capture Cornish fisherman for use as slaves, this was happening even after Britain gave two fingers to the world and outlawed the trading in slaves.
