Toby's voice and personality is so sweet and calming that there's a false sense of security before she drops the exam on them.

the difference in difficulty level of the JEE questions vs the SAT questions is just laughable

Neal Mohan definitely needs a vacation - because of stress, he makes very questionable decisions about YouTube

Besides seeing them sweat a little it was interesting to hear the diverse experiences they had learning in different parts of the world, thanks for this

You could see their initial anxiety as they thought they would be asked to answer the questions and their relief once they realized your questions were more general in nature.

Are they even on the same level though? Aren't SAT and JEE (or JEE-advanced in recent days) like worlds apart in difficulty?

As an American, my takeaway is that I think few Americans have ever heard of these tests and would be stunned to know that in most countries one has to pass multiple comprehensive tests in order to graduate high school. Also that subjects like micro/macro economics and advanced physics are routinely taught in high school in other countries. Most Americans aren’t even aware of the level of testing required to obtain a graduate degree (unless you are enrolled in an online six week MBA or some other create-your-own masters degree farce). And finally that academics and teachers are highly valued by other societies. Teachers in other societies have real status and are paid well enough so that high achievers want to enter the field. I have worked with plenty of American ex-pats who are shocked at the level of academic rigor and the demands of testing that their children are exposed to when they live outside of the U.S. If we don’t start valuing academics and teaching, we will continue our downward spiral in international competitiveness and we will find it increasingly difficult to hold on to our democracy.

...so anyone else keep pausing to work out the problems on the exams?

Toby is so wonderfully pure and lovely ❤. I can't imagine anyone not wanting to be her friend.

Great questions to very interesting people! It is neat to hear about the impact education has had on their careers. I feel that we get a bit tunnel visioned when going through school such that it becomes hard to see how education can be applied to drive towards a successful career.
