Nexus 7 Battery removal. Not charging, powering on and flickering Screen when charging fix.

Hi,
Here's a second video for the Nexus 7. I've got my device back now and it's time to take it apart to show you the connections that can go wrong causing the device to not power on, or screen to flicker when trying to power on while charging.

The main issue is the battery has likely become slightly unplugged internally. Simply remove the back of the device and reseat the battery. Be careful not to damage the machine. Also ways send the device for warranty repair before considering this. If you're out of warranty then this is worth a try.

I viewed your video instruction on the Nexus 7 battery fixes. I opened up my tablet's back door and I noticed quite a gap surrounding the battery.  So I removed the connector and snugged the battery towards the connector point. I then took some masting tape to secure in the snug position. Plugged the 7 back to charge the Nexus 7 back and it currently running.  Thanks for your simple instruction on fixing this battery issue!  Thank goodness for YouTube!!!

Thank you so much for posting this video. My mom (Grammy) purchased the Asus Memo Pad 7 for 4 of our children for Christmas. Within a day or so we started having problems; one wouldn't power on and one wouldn't charge. I thought it was the charging port but my husband said he thought it was the battery. We did an online search and found your video. We decided to try your fix. Sure enough the battery was disconnected due to some design flaws from the manufacturer. It was a simple fix and now all of the tablets are working and charging as expected. Thanks again for such a helpful video!

THANK I have watched tons of tutorials and nothing has worked. I haven't been able to use my Nexus 7 for about several months because everything I have tried has not worked. Because of your tutorial my nexus is fixed!!! Thanks again.

Excellent video. Although the connector did not appear to be loose on mine, the wires were taught due to skewed position of the battery. I disconnected and reconnected the connector after adjusting the position of the battery and fixing with gaffer tape and hey presto back up and working fine. Had to use a pen knife to remove the back as my nails not up to the job. Not absolutely sure the connection was loose, but certainly the reconnection had a positive effect.
Many thanks.

Oh thank you! I had tried other methods to get my Nexus back up and running and nothing. This solution worked for me. When I opened mine up the battery had been taped at the upper part and and stretched the wire connection to the point it finally came a loose. Now I've adjusted it and its working again. Thank you sir!

Thanks for your help with this our Nexus is now happily charging. We bought two of these about two years ago and have had one of them replaced twice within the warranty period. Other than they have been great although we have had to do a few resets, mostly if the kids let the battery level get too low. Good video and nice clear explanations.

Worked for me. Used a power supply into one red and one black wire, set to 3.5 volts and current limited to 100 ma. It charged to 20 percent in 9 hours and just plain turned on once I did the 30 second button push. Doing the happy dance....

Did exactly as described; opened my nexus, fixed the loose contact from the battery and put some tapes to hold battery and wire in place and it was working fine (I had flickering screen issue). Thanks

Worked flawlessly when my N7 didn't want to turn on few months ago, had the same issue today, this time I had to leave the battery unplugged a bit more (15 minutes actually) to make it back to work
