Are Graphene Coatings Legit?

As you've probably noticed, it's been the rage for a couple years. So much so that companies have been adding it to every auto appearance product possible: detail sprays, tire dressings, shampoos, and ceramic coatings.

In this video we sit down with Dr. Matt Gilkey and Dr. Jared Nash, both members of our research and development team. We asked them to give us the low down on graphene and to explain the science behind the material!

Are graphene coatings legit or are they a marketing gimmick? Watch the video and judge for yourself.

Lots of us have known this to be true anecdotally - so it’s good to hear the science behind what we have seen in the real world. Thanks!

You didn’t test much of anything. Yes it isn’t any different than regular coating when applied freshly. The purpose of it is longevity and resistance to water spotting

That's a nice video. Keep it that way guys.

Is it toxic if applied to the interior of the car?

I would've loved to see simulating weathering buy sanding some of the paint down, and see how (if) the exposed particles have any effect

But you haven’t tested how long it lasted or water spot resistant

Does graphene provide value to a coating..? Well you claim that you have separated a supernaut of graphene solution, and applied it to a liquid coating. Try adding the solid powder to your own coating blend. EM shielding.

You wouldn't grow the stuff for your application, spray coatings is good. So your explainer is mixed up . If you need a protective coat, to make things stronger, like the new concrete formulas would work. When you confuse the audience with interesting information, it sucks. The other forms you've mentioned are specifically manufactured for electric conductivity, or thermal insulation. You're looking for a cheap bulk form that's able to reduce down into your coating blend to provide shielding or strength. Guys do more relivent research .
