Supermarket shelves need filling here in the UK. Going to buy a ribeye steak is like competing an Indian Jones mission.

Great to see somebody from UK on the diet. Starting the diet myself this year and also trying now to find best deals and places to source meat. Weird thing is I was cringing at some of the prices I have seen but looking back I would easily spend £125 a month just on takeaway food. Atb

Being over 60 what I bemoan is the lack of butchers shops which were prevalent in the 60's, 70's and 80's. As people have turned to supermarket shopping and with the pandemic it has forced many independent butchers out of the market. I like my meat to have plenty of fat and you could choose your meat to your liking and often they would throw in extra fat for free. When it comes to lamb I am extremely lucky in knowing a sheep farmer and usually buy a one year old lamb for £150 which is not trimmed of fat and comes with organ meat ( love lamb heart) but navigating your way is tough when you rely on supermarkets.

I went to Costco and bought a whole ribeye. I cut it at home to the thickness I like. I’ve started vacuum packing and freezing them. There’s a bloke on YouTube called “Ferrigno freedom “ and he shows how to cook a steak in the airfryer from frozen. Proper lush there are too.

carnivore for 7 years in the uk now. currently looking for community. I used to run a carnivore group for Bristol and southwest about 5 years ago.

Finding steaks beyond the supermarkets is defiantly the way to go. Investing in a freezer if you have the space, also a great one ;)

I find both Lidl and Aldi only put a few ribeye steaks out per day. I often buy all the ones they have, maybe leaving the thinner cuts for someone else. Cosco is too far. Am thinking about a large purchase from the butcher but a bit apprehensive about cutting it up myself.

I use the meat man (online butchers) and always been happy with the quality for price

The Lidl 30 day age grassfed Sirloin is an absolute winner. Not as tender as the 35 day age but a deep and delicious flavour and the texture is satisfying. By the way, I'm here 52 hours into a 72 hour fast and I'm going carnivore when I break my fast. Good luck and keep posting!

Lidl’s grass fed ribeyes are nice’ 10oz and thick cut too. They are 70% grass fed, so grain finished. 😊

I would recommend costco for sreak . I buy full ribeye and sirloin joints . Works out at around £20 a kilo for the ribeye and I cut it into half kilo steaks . I have one meal a day usually, steak with 5 boiled eggs mashed with butter . The steaks work out a tenner each . Losing around 1lb a day on average 😁

My favourite is Asda. They taste the best and are 2 for £8. My local is always well stocked.

Here in Australia the range of steaks in the supermarket isn’t too bad at all. Bummer that you’re having difficulties finding good bulk at your supermarkets. Hopefully as demand increases they’ll listen and improve their range. Happy New Year, good luck with the lion diet mate. 🥩

Go hunting tomorrow - there will be a lot of bargains in supermarkets! I loaded up on cheese today, put it straight into the freezer to avoid temptation while doing the lion in January. As to your question: usually I find all I need, plus I stock up whenever there is a deal/offer/discounted. I think our mince is better and more variety than in the US but if mince is not your thing, then yeah, you depend on steaks. Happy New Year, to you Paul and to all carnivores all over the UK!

I use Aldi and Lidl mainly and it can be a struggle at times to find exactly what you want and some times it’s just hit and miss.

Get to the supermarkets when they open in the morning the shelves are normally full. Supermarkets stocks come in everyday and the majority of the shelf stackers work mainly in the mornings. Good luck for the lion diet.

Finding any steaks with fat on is a long fruitless hunt in my town

I went to Aldi today. No ribeye at all in fact hardly any steaks on display. Maybe they were short staffed so no-one free to fill up the shelves. Very disappointing
