Can Game of Thrones Possibly Have a Happy Ending?

I know its unlikely, and it's going to sound out of place, but I really would like Daenarys 's ending to be her returning to her home, which is symbolized by "the house with the red door" or maybe even not the same house. She has a baby with Daario Naharis, as the scene zooms out, with Daenarys and their baby in her own room there and a lemon tree outside her window, it would be a humanizing ending.

GRRM said the ending would be bittersweet. I think Lancel, Ramsay, and Roose had the best points.

If the show has a happy ending it will officially tear the show into millions of pieces it will be a disaster if they give the fans what they want to see, personally they need to kill some major major characters in season 8 and I mean the protagonists, I d rout for a sad ending over a happy ending any day, in season 8 they will kill at least half of these people I m 100 percent sure of it, Daenerys, Arya, Sansa, Cersei, Jamie, Bran, Jon, Tyrion

It wont be a happy ending, as much of that we know. George said in an interview that he wants to make a bitter-sweet ending. But that is in the books, maybe the show takes a different dirrection.

I think the good guys will definitely triumph over the White Walkers, but at a terrible cost. There's no way Daenerys, Jon, Sansa, Tyrion, and Arya all survive, much less the smaller well loved characters like Brienne, Tormund, and Sam.

For my part, I think Jon and Daenerys will sacrifice themselves to stop the White Walkers, and Sam will end up on the Iron Throne. That feels very Lord of the Rings to me, with Sam Tarly literally being an analog for Sam Gamgee in LotR. Good ending, but bittersweet. And GRRM has already said Ice and Fire is heavily inspired by LotR, so it fits.

But there's always still a chance that the books and show will have different endings. Or at least that some elements might be different.

I remember GRRM once said he wants GoT to have an ending like Lord of the Rings. The good guys win, but it won't be a happy one.
