Yes I've been constantly contacted asking me to change to smart meters. Had that message saying to change as the meters are old. I just ignore/refuse. I hope others keep saying no.

I'm a older person with Cancer and COPD . I think that puts me in the disabled and vulnerable list. At least that's what the government kept telling me during the lockdown on phone calls recorded telling me I WASN'T allowed out. That was bollocks they could only advise . As with 90 % of there advice I ignored it. That's properly why I didn't have any of there vax's or tests. Pure blood and proud.

I'm with Utility Warehouse. They phoned me a couple of times about it. I simply told them no way no how. I told the guy he lacks all integrity trying to push this nonsense on people, especially vulnerable people and for everyone he pressured into it, their suffering would be on his hands. I've not heard back from them in months now.

British Gas illegally entering people’s houses and forcing vulnerable people to have prepayment meters and there getting away with it if you come to this country as a refugee you’re looked after while the people that pay for that are treated like this

I was hassled constantly, the last phone call I had the bloke asked me my reason for not wanting one, I told him I did not want anything this corrupt government was promoting, he was speechless, have not heard from them since. You could always say you have EMF sensitivity as this has been proved in a court of law to be a medical condition...`

I had a mail from Scottish power telling me my old meter could be a safety hazard !!!!
No way am I having one . Anything called Smart or eco is to be avoided at all costs !

I have just been informed that I could have a cheaper tariff - a few conditions of course. 1 I must have a smart meter, 2. I must pay by Direct Debit 3. I must manage my account on line. I pay by Direct Debit but I refuse to have a smart meter and I refuse to manage the account on line. So they hit me in the pocket. I wish I had come over the channel on a rubber dinghy, but I didn't - no, I took the Queen's shilling when I was 15 years old and have paid my taxes and bills all my working life so now at 79 years of age I am penalised by a company that wants to force me to do things their way.

I don't have a smart meter. I regularly, once a month give my meter readings to Eon for electricity. My bill is averaging £60 a month but they are still taking £165 a month, well they were. I got through the winter for £60 a month, so summer should be no problem. I told them I want all the money built up in my account refunded from the daylight robbery they imposed on me in direct debits and my monthly DD put down to £65 a month instead of £165. Done and dusted. I am refusing to have these companies tell me what I need to do, when I am the customer. I have taken back control!! Before all the price hikes my monthly DD was £55, so is this all fear mongering? Did the prices go through the roof or are they tampering with Smart Meters to make you believe prices skyrocketed?

Heres what you can do and its all quite legal.
1, Inform your provider your charges for them to fit the smartmeter in your property, lets say its £5000, but this can be what you like.
2, Inform your provider of your monthly standing charge rental for them to keep the smartmeter on your property., lets say £1000 a month. again you can charge what you like.
Put these demands in a recorded mail letter which must be signed for upon delivery and dont forget the killer last paragraph which will say that any reply will mean that they have agreed your terms and as they have signed for delivery, you now have a contract to show in any court.
Its known as turning the tables and by doing this you are simply applying the same tac as they have used against you and as we are all equal under law, the contract will stand.

If they are daft enough to reply, then you need to send them your invoice pointing out the contract signed by them and thanking them for agreeing your terms.
Its Common Law and you can bet your bollocks to a barn dance that they will soon cease their demands as these smartmeters cant be enforced, no matter what they might claim

My landlord and British Gas engineer fitted Smart Meters in my Absence. I’m looking in to “Burglary of a dwelling place.” And procuring legal action, against these scammers.
Smart Meters are not compulsory.

EDF rang me yesterday, here's the conversation:
'We need to arrange installation of your smart meter'.
'I don't want one'
'It's compulsory'
'Oh no it isn't'.
'Oh, well, it will be soon'.
'Still not having one'.
Another 4 minutes outlining the benefits.
'Still not having one, thanks for your call, bye'.
