How to Sew Luxury Minky Blanket | Minky Couture Blanket Dupe

A super easy DIY! I would strongly suggest getting a walking foot for this project because of how “slippery” Minky fabric is. This project only took me an hour and the result is the most luxurious buttery soft blanket. I’m so obsessed. Literally cuddling it as I type this video description. These blankets make AMAZING gifts and are customizable when you make them yourself. Would be great for any birthday, mothers/fathers day, Christmas, wedding, you name it!

Awesome!!! do you need to tack down the middle or do you sew a seam all across the blanket? Or does the middle stay all open after the edges are sewed together?? ❤️

I love minky blanket too. I have 2 of them from that company. And yes they are pricey so been researching how to make my own. Ha ha. So watching your video and deciding should i take the plunge. I know the fabric is pricey too. So i am nervous to mess it up.

What kind of sewing machine do you have... Or recommend?

I've never had one, but am thinking about getting one....

The biggest reason is for being able to take in or adjust (I don't know the correct term) my 4lb Morkie, Charlee's clothing, it's super hard finding clothing that fits her. She is super tiny. Because she is 10" long. I usually have to order a medium because the small's are usually only 8-9" long, but then there's always a huge amount of inches hanging to the floor! (Because she has a skinny girth) lol

I have Minky or flannel material with a cotton material. I want to put the two together to make a double sided blanket. How do you keep them from sliding apart once they’re sewn together? Do you have to run a seam down the center of the blanket? Thank you for any replies.
