Tip for sewing openings: instead of starting on the seam, start at the edge of the fabric, sew a few stitches to the seam, pivot, then sew around the object. When you get to the other side of the opening, pivot and sew to the edge. After turning, this helps the seam to turn under. It will look like this: Hope this helps

Made each of my three grandchildren 30" long crocodile stuffed animals using Minky, top and bottom. The stretching, slipping and shedding was so frustrating. Because that wasn't enough punishment and I over estimated the amount of Minky to purchase so had a lot left over and wanted it out of my home, I then also made three blankets for them. By the time I got to the blankets, I think I pinned every 1/4 to 1/2 inch and it was still, shall we say, challenging. Promised myself I never, ever had to sew with Minky again. If only I had known this 10-12 years ago! I hope everyone who wants to sew with Mindy sees this video. Excellent.

When I saw your video, I said no way no how does this really work. Well, not only does it work, it is the most GENIUS thing I have seen. I watch the full video, then I proceeded to make my adult son a blanket, using 2.5 yards of fabric for top and bottom. Trimmed and cut as you said to do and then smoothed it out and smoothed again. Then out came the Press N Seal. Beginning to end 3 hours. You are a genius and I cannot thank you enough for sharing this hack with us. Genius. Genius. I will never go back to tying those blankets.

After using Press ‘n Seal as a hack for cake frosting piping effects for years, I’m stunned to see there’s finally a sewing hack for it now, too! This ranks up there with freezer paper and quilting. Great idea! 💖

Oh my goodness. I can't wait to try I love minky, but shy away from it because it's so hard to sew. And thank you for including needle size and stitch length. Always helpful to get those tips. Thank you for sharing!!!

I have never seen such a clever sewing hack! I have three different minkys and have had them for several years because I couldn't get the darn stuff to not stretch out of shape I just put them away. I can now joyfully get them out and make some long over due blankets! I'm so happy to have chanced upon your channel!😊

2 weeks later and I am still finding minky (cuddle) dust bunnies everywhere after finally finishing an overdue valentine quilt for my great-granddaughter. If only I had seen this sooner, but my next project will not be filled with such dread. She loves everything soft and cuddly, like the little princess that she is! You are a rockstar!

one sew with one notch fingers on left hand and only thumb on right hand. I can not tell you how much not having to use pins helps. Thank you. I love this. You are my new hero. Lol.

Oooh, pretty sure that Press’nSeal already knows how I feel about it. I’ve used it in cake decorating, crafting, and still regularly use it in the kitchen. I’m so happy to see it has yet another unexpected use. Thank you for such a great video. Congratulations on that new little addition to your family. 🤗

This video was an absolute life saver. After struggling to sew a minky blanket, failing, wasting fabric, then buying new fabric to try again, this video is the only reason I succeeded. Thank you so much 😭😭

First off, I stumbled on this video and watched to listen to the sewing machine hum. You are just a delight to watch! So cute. I’ve been sewing for 56 years and sometimes just want to hear the sewing machine hum. Bonus that I learned a new trick. Thank you.

This is amazing! I just tried my first item using minky and have been ripping the seams out to redo it. The fabric shifted and stretched, ruining everything. I stumbled across your video by accident and I’m so happy I did!! Thank you so much!!

I can’t wait to try this hack! As soon as I started watching this, I remembered I had seen this hack before, but I forgot to make note of it somewhere, and I JUST did a baby blanket like this for my coming GR8-Granddaughter and it was a pain! Thank you!!!! 💜☮️🦋
