In the meantime, we are warming up with these short daily practices. Every day, we focus on one essential element of your gait pattern.
Today, while walking, pay attention to your step length. Does one leg make a longer step? Then purposely make a few longer steps with one foot, then the other. You are likely to discover that it is easier and more familiar on one side.
There are many reasons for step length asymmetry. For example, hip pain, difficulty with hip flexion on one side or extension on the opposite, difficulty with knee extension, SIJ dysfunction, leg length discrepancy, or short hamstrings on one side.
