On a globe map, it is located on Africa's west coast, closest to the Americas and borders the Atlantic Ocean. The Gulf of Guinea can be found by following Africa's western coast until it turns inwards. Draw a straight line from London to the Gulf of Guinea, and you'll arrive in Ghana.

Ghana is one of the only few countries that claim to be closest to the equator, because of that, you won't find many climates as tropical as this one. Ghana, in fact, has only two seasons. Wet and dry season.
During the dry season, temperatures can reach as high as 30°C or 86°F on most days. There are about equal amounts of sandy desert, shrubby savannah, and lush rainforest throughout the country. The air around the shore is dry, but the cold breezes from the Atlantic Ocean help to keep the heat at bay.
The enormous man-made Lake Volta is located just above the coast. Its lush embankments along the length of Ghana's eastern coast. The Ashanti plateau, a series of rolling hills overrun with tropical trees, is in the heart of Ghana.
As you travel north, the landscape becomes dryer and the grasslands become desert. Kakum National Park in the south, which has a canopy-level walkway across its jungle canopies, and Mole National Park, where herds of elephants roam the wide-open expanses, are also popular national parks in this area.
