As a Ghanaian this is so funny cos its very true!!!And my teacher used to correct us all the time about this "nice".He said it doesn't mean anything yet we wouldn't stop.

I think here in Ghana, respect is our most important moral value.
That's why we abuse the word "please"😂😂

I can relate to the twi part - whenever I am in the mist of Ghanaians which I often am as my hubby is a Ghanaian, I am always spoken to in Twi, this is how Ghanaians love their language and culture. I love the fact that they teach their culture to their kids at a very young age especially for kids born outside of Ghana. I am amazed when I see young kids born here in the UK speak twi fluently, when I couldn’t speak my maternal language at that age. Oh not forgetting their food waakye with shito is one of my favourites (I can do with it everyday)

As a Kenyan who lived in Ghana for only 4 months I relate 100%🤣. Actually this video made me miss Ghana! I was in Kumasi for the time I stayed there. The “please” often took me out every time! I actually once asked a colleague why they beg before greeting🤣 “please good morning “🤣 surely why? And the Mate thing for the conductor was just another I could wrap my head around. Long live Ghana! Akwaaba😁

Let's give this lady a Ghanaian passport. She really understands us. "Please" is our national pledge. People want to be extra humble so they say if very often. It's actually from our local dialects.

my first job with an international company, I was the only black and Ghanaian there and always starting sentences with please . 😂😂😂😂 oneday one of my superiors called me saying "Please, Emmanuel, please call the site manager, please to please send the safety please report.please also. please understand that you are please to represent your department at the meeting please"
right after all of them about 7 of them bust out with laughter . I felt so bad and shy 🤭 😂😂🤣😂😂 and instantly please got formatted from my brain.

I always say Ghanaians are like Canadians. Extra polite.

One guy on our international studies page asked a Ghanaian guy whether he's a Nigerian and the Ghanaian guy said "no and see how the Nigerian guy vex for the group inside 😂 taking this response as an insult. We had to continuously explain to him that Ghanaians are just extra polite even in speech, that's all. Before this oga calmed down
