Bernardo Kastrup and Tom Campbell Exchange Views on The Nature of Reality and More

Bernardo Kastrup and Tom Campbell share their views on the nature of reality. While differing on some points, both of these brilliant men conclude that consciousness is at the root of reality. The logical process brought Bernardo, a philosopher, to this conclusion.

That same logical process, in addition to his consciousness exploration and experimentation, resulted in Tom's big theory of everything, My Big TOE, where all the "hard problems" of physics are explained, concluding that consciousness is at the root of reality. Campbell's physics experiments, now being conducted, will offer more evidence of consciousness being at the root of reality, and that we live in a virtual reality.

I am a musician... have been all of my life.... Here is how I would explain this reality, consciousness, and all of us through this simple metaphor.

Think of consciousness (the energy that we are) as a guitar amp.... and all of us as a differently tune guitar... all of us are different because we're all tuned differently just like our DNA is all different, but our cautiousness comes from the guitar amp because our guitar or avatar is plugged into the same guitar amp. In other words the guitar amp is the source of our consciousness and the guitar is the avatar. As time goes by our consciousness (the guitar amp) that is being played through the guitar or this avatar, learns how to play the game of life better overtime and experience... We are all here to have an experience while at the same time we are learning how to play the music of life.

Just wonderful. Wish there were time to go into even more depth. I have wanted to see Kastrup and Campbell together for a LONG time. Thank you for this! I have loved both theories for quite a while and they both have contributed in amazing ways to my own studies. I think both are on the right track to move us forward.I would add Donald Hoffman, Nasim Harramein and a few others to the mix as well. Anything that leads us away from the inane materialist reductionist paradigm that is contributing to the destruction of the planet and our civilization. We need to see a far bigger picture than we currently do.

Wow...such a delightful discussion. Great interviewer, great minds. I love the "Consciousness logs on" idea, always have. I first ran across it about 1967 in a Ray Bradbury short film about the phone system coming awake (in a dark way), and then again shortly later in "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" by R. A. Heinlein (the computer "Mike"). I hope it turns out to work that way, though I can't quite accept it as a foregone conclusion yet. Regarding the "why don't we don't we know everything?" idea, I would point out that there is a large body of robust data indicating that WE DO. The lovely book by Russell Targ, "Limitless Mind" does a nice job opening up the nuts and bolts of this topic.

I loved this conversation! I said it elsewhere, but it seems like Bernardo, Tom, and Donald Hoffman all have pieces of this consciousness puzzle from coming at it from different angles. I'd love to see them get together for a few weeks to work on a grand big TOE together, refining and working on each others ideas.
