For all intents and purposes this is a joke.

Who knows … but a deliverance prayer wouldn’t hurt.

Behind every disease or ailment especially mental types there is a spirit or principality

You should try having someone do a deliverance prayer on you and see what happens (what is there to lose right?). Never say never… The truth can be a lot different than we assume.

My brother tics more in church than other places because he's more self-conscious there. The more he thinks of trying to be quiet and control it, the more he tics.

The demon flips the bird, that's definitely the demon possession!

I think, realistically, it was more so an issue of stressing yourself out too much trying not to tic?

It's very common for people with tics to punch themselves and want to self harm and say obscene things and gets worse when people are in church.... 💯👉🏻Demon. Deliverance from a Born again Christian is what you need. 🙏🏻💞🕊️

Awww! It makes sense! Ppl have always tried to find a way to explain things they don't understand, and there are so many instances in history of ppl being ostracized or blamed for things they have no control over.

I always feel weird when people say TS and church don't mix. I have TS and my dad is a pastor and I plan to go into missionary work. I also know a youth pastor with TS who even runs a church summer camp.

Being silent and still makes the tics come out more I’ve noticed. it’s a difficult time when trying to attend church but it is how it is. Dark jokes the brain makes up are always odd esepcially those types. But in times like this sometimes they’re funny

I don't know if it would specifically target your tics or not, but it's been documented that most christian churches use a combination of specific music and emotional priming to prompt the emotional reactions that are desired (for example people randomly start sobbing because they're "overcome" are actually, scientifically reacting to the music and/or atmosphere created by the others in the room, and their brain is connecting that experience to others and reacting in response to the stimulus). It's not, scientifically, different than listening to a very moving pop song. However, the setting plays a strong role (generally lots of expectations for behavior that are more strict and controlled than we are naturally, for one).
So basically no, not possessed, but very possibly triggered by the emotional priming and/or feeling watched/judged due to strict expectations. But that's just a guess. I don't have tourettes, but I did spend over a decade in christianity and then get out and start deconstructing and learning how and why things happened to me the way they did.

It's crazy that this is exactly what I was thinking yesterday. People who were accused of being possessed by the devil, weretjey actually suffering from Tourettes? And of course not self aware

bro i hated church as a little kid because i had a lot of undiagnosed crap. the most prominent is my adhd and being on the autism spectrum. i constantly have to be moving, whether it's bouncy leg or having to look at everything and everyone in the room all at once. trying to suppress the urge to move was frustrating to the point i wanted to cry. the amount of times ive been punished by parents or teachers because i wouldn't sit still drove me insane. i cannot physically sit still unless i'm zoned out or depressed to the point idgaf about life anymore.
