Crayola makes watercolor pencils, but are they any good? Are the colors vibrant and can you move the color with water, like with other watercolor pencils?
I find the pencils vibrant and move easily with a water brush.
They can be used dry on dry paper, then water added with a wet brush OR
They can be used by wetting the tip of the pencil and writing on dry paper OR
They can be used by wetting the paper and writing with a penci on the wet paper.

So glad to see a fair review. I have a variety of watercolor pencil brands, icluding Derwent, a very different type than Crayola. I, personally, like Crayola better than several other brands that are supposed to be for adults. I have watched a ton of reviews of paints, papers, and watercolor pencils in the last few days, and i am amazed at the obvious bias shown in technique. The only way to know is to try them yourself, and realize one size does not fit all. You actually need to build a variety and practice a lot. When my practices go south, i cut the paper into sections and use them for greeting card backgrounds. It is amazing the wonderful things you can see after doing that! You can draw simple black inked flowers or doodles on top, too... so fun! Sometimes i see a whole new scene and rework it to my delight! I rarely toss anything. The bottom line: just have fun!

One should never dip the pencil in water. Eventually it will damage the wood.
