How Insane Diesel's EXTREME Bypass Oil Filters Work

Learn how our EXTREME bypass oil filters work. Want to save your truck from the detrimental effects of modern Emissions and typical oil contamination? Radically cleaner oil is the modern way to significantly increase engine life.

EXTREME is a bypass oil filter. Your stock oil filter stays in place, but it no longer is doing the heavy cleaning. Bypass filters are mounted on or close to the engine and are connected by a pressure line and a return line. Several different methods are used, usually utilizing pressure ports already on the engine and often returned through the convenience of a custom ported oil filler cap.
Once the original EXTREME Oil Filter System is installed, only the element needs to be changed once a year or every 15,000 miles on a diesel, or 20,000 miles on a gas engine. Then just top off the oil and off you go again. It’s recommend that the OEM filter be changed at the same time, even though it will likely still be clean, to prevent it from degrading over time. That also gives an extra quart or so of top-off oil to replenish additives. How simple is that? No other filter comes close to keeping your oil so clean as you drive.
How does EXTREME work so well?
Every engine makes PLENTY of extra oil pressure and often much of it is just wasted, shunted back to the oil pan before it goes anywhere. The EXTREME takes a little of that extra oil at a time and ultra-fine filters it, returning it safely to the engine after cleaner it finer than new oil. At its flow rate of 1.5GPM, the entire oil supply is cleansed every 1 to 2 minutes.
Because of its patented progressive filtering technology, the EXTREME can filter from 10Micron down to 1 Micron, better than any other OEM or bypass filter, without plugging up easily like other fine filters do. With progressive, high-density filter material, EXTREME can hold a stunning 400 times more contaminants than OEM filters, while filtering down to a level 10 times better than the OEM filter.
As a result, the engine oil is kept technically cleaner than new oil, and this means blind oil changes can be eliminated. Instead, a small oil sample is taken and sent in at least twice a year or every 7500 miles, which is much cleaner, easier, quicker, and still cheaper than an oil change. The oil analysis verifies the oil is still healthy and clean, and can also help identify any early engine problems before they cause serious damage.
The oil is only changed if there is a problem with the engine or, if the oil analysis indicates it’s time. This saves a huge amount of down time and money, and radically reduces oil waste. Equally important, because the oil is kept constantly cleaner than new oil, engine life lost to emission controls and typical contaminants is radically restored and can even be increased to a couple times more than through conventional oil changes.
Please feel free to contact us for specific details. With EXTREME, we love your truck as much as you do. Love your truck? Keep it clean!

I HIGHLY recommend you put clamps on the hoses. They don't hold as they should. My hose came off and blew out all the oil in seconds. $15, 000 later, I have a new engine. I sent the hoses back to Insane Diesel back in December. NEVER HEARD A WORD BACK. How's that for customer service and quality of product.

I really want to add this kind of system to my Ram Diesel truck but after looking at all the options I have to go with the Amsoil version because it is less money by $100. I have looked at this one, the one from Filtration Solutions and Amsoil. They all do the same thing so it really comes down to price. Each one will say theirs is the best so why not save some money. They are all over priced in my opinion!

Filters down to 1 micron! It's cheaper in price!
Not cluttering up your engine bay!
It's about performance of course!
As far as looks are concerned its duffy, bulky and down right out place in my eyes in the engine bay.

Both Amsoil and Insane are excellent!

But that just my opinion, but Isane is my preference because of those 3 reasons above!

The name is very accurate and also insanely overpriced for tin can that holds a roll of toilet paper with hoses coming and going to your motor pretty ingenious but not affordable to everybody of course

Seems like a nice product, but holy crap.... don't let the 12 year old make your next product video. All the zooming and panning and unnecessary movements made me feel like I had some ADHD or something.
