Banshee was never in any real danger because Magneto could just catch him through the metal clasps on his rig. This was why he was so confident in pushing him off the railing.

You know what I loved the most from this movie?? Charles training the new guys, what has never been seen before

2:33 After all these years, I just realized that Magneto pushed him with full confidence because he can actually "catch" him should he fail to fly.

What makes the Magneto vs Xavier debate work so well in this movie (better than any of the 2000s films) is that Magneto had a better understanding of how people felt.
He understood Raven far better than Charles ever did.
Charles's naivety and blind optimism that most people were like Moira was often problematic in trying to get society to accept mutants.

"You want society to accept you but you can't even accept yourself." I feel like a LOT of people need to hear that.

James McAvoy is such a phenomenally good actor. He does fantastically well in these scenes

What I always liked about the dynamic between Charles and Erik is that they’re both right and wrong to extents. Charles believes humans and mutants can coexist, which they’ve been able to, but has to realize that not everyone is so accepting of mutants like his friends are. Erik believes mutants are the future and should embrace their gifts which definitely helps those who are treated differently, but he fails to see that not all humans are their enemies

Probably one of the happiest time Magneto had to experience.

2:30 The Good teacher, Bad teacher routine. Charles with the nice encouraging words, Eric just shoves him off.

When you are using half your concentration to look normal, then you are half paying attention to whatever else you're doing. You want society to accept you, but you cannot even accept yourself.

Damn as much as Erik is being sort of a douchebag in these scenes. He actually gave good advice here. That hits super hard.
