You may be right, I exposed mine to cooler temps (garage) after this summer, and finally, after 5 years, i have several flower stalks.

I noticed that plants like the moisture and cool air that fellow plants provide, which makes sense. Figuring out how to simulate such an environment is the hard part, but it's good to know at least. Thanks!

I’m no botanist but I’m guessing the cool air is an environmental trigger for it to put out flowers. Pretty cool trick though, I’ll have to try it! Cool as in 60°f over night though?

I will leave my BOP outside during summer and into fall.
FYI, I to found out that dendrobium orchids do very well in very cool temps. Mine were in 40 degree temps VERY LITTLE WATER. It makes the roots keep growing because its try to find water. I don’t know about the other orchid types.

What is cool weather, and how old is your plant. I have had mine for about a year and it's still small.

Can I start a new plant from a cutting from the stalk! I obtained a flower from a bouquet and I want to start a new plant from this flower. Is this possible and how can I do it?

Having some consistency to temperature and water for your plants is important but plants evolved outside
