Tim Mosso's Omega Seamaster + Top 10 Omega Watches Of the Last Ten Years

The Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch is the most famous chronograph in the world. It's also Omega's iconic watch and cornerstone for collectors of the brand. But even Speedmasters come in many forms, and Tim Mosso has assembled his top ten Omega Speedmasters, Seamasters and more from the last ten years of watchmaking. This show features to top ten Omega watches of the last ten years.

The Omega Moonswatch was a hit and a controversy all in one. From a success standpoint, the Omega X Swatch MoonSwatch Speedmaster Chronographs were blockbusters. Buyers lined up at Swatch stores with numbers and intensity not seen since the early 1990s heyday of the Swatch watch brand. At $260 and clearly fabricated from plastic, the Moonswatch is not a luxury watch. The quartz powered chronograph - available in several colors or "mission" - sold so well that roughly 1 in 16 Swiss watches exported in 2022 was a Moonswatch.

Fans and collectors argue that the Moonswatch introduced Omega watches to a younger audience and pushed back the tide of smart watches that have been eroding entry-level Swiss watch production. Critics argued that it damaged the Omega brand and encouraged young people to become watch flippers. Tonight, Tim will discuss both perspectives and poll the live audience about its opinion.

On the luxury end of the spectrum, the Omega Speedmaster Caliber 321 (reference 311.30.40.30.01.001) was a true luxury watch hit for Omega. Launched in 2020, the 39.7mm steel Speedmaster Caliber 321 is a faithful re-edition of the Omega Speedmaster 105.003 used by American astronaut Ed White during his pioneering space walk on June 3, 1965. The revival of column wheel chronograph caliber 321 answered the decades-long prayers of Omega watch collectors. Although priced at $15,400, the Speedmaster Caliber 321 remains so popular that dealers maintain waiting lists four years after the debut of the watch.

If you have ever considered buying a luxury watch, this buyer's guide is for you!

All of this plus live discussion and watch collector wrist shots appears tonight on "Watches Tonight!"

One of my favourite episodes that I’ve seen. Thanks for showcasing some of Omegas best this last decade. My favourites are the CK2998, denim Railmaster, and titanium Seamaster.

This show is criminally underrated. Tim knows so many watches off the top of his head it’s ridiculous. Tim, I’m in Toronto Canada and I really appreciate your content when I get home from a long day of work. Cheers kind sir. Your a gentleman and a scholar

Glad to see the Ultra Light on the list. One of the coolest price-not-important watches any brand has done in the last few years

What's nice with the Grey side is it still looks like metal. Isn't it time for some smaller ceramics? Most are like this one or even bigger.

I *have* seen a brown dial 3rd Gen Overseas time & date. The owner, a Charlotte banker, moved it as a nearly straight trade for a Patek Philippe perpetual calendar chronograph.

Tim, great show and thank you for the advanced notice RE: no show next week. Also appreciate you not tolerating that rude commenter at the end of the show.

Great video 👍
The problem with Omega is their service costs are too high.
It will bankrupt your hobby if you have to service one of the high complication timepiece.

Nice watches, but the expensive ones, like speedmasters in precious metals lost so much value out of the door it is not sustainable, a 30k watch resale at 50% discount in New conditions and full set... that's a real problem, that's worst than buying designer clothes or furnitures as far as value retention ..it means that the collectors with options don't chose Omega period. this is why they have to spend so much money on celebrities to pretend they are in demand... its all marketing for the uneducated..beside that they are good watches just not worth it to invest in.

Great show Tim and crew. I am not a big fan of Omega, but I definitely love a couple of their Speed Master Schumacher.

Absolutely fantastic show, the depth of knowledge is frightening. My favourite brand too so this was perfection for me. Tim is the undisputed champ

It would be nice if omega made more FOIS watches. Heard that a titanium speedy is likely coming (in the moonwatch case). Probably a 2025 speedy Tuesday release?

I went to the Grey Side but couldn't resist the meteorite dial and rose gold accents. The only downside is that the gold edge of the bezel is not as scratch resistant so a bit more care must be taken.

Great in the back! A Dalibor Farny Puri-6 Nixie clock. I own one too, next to my 1967 Omega Seamaster300
