2024 Toyota Tacoma Window Rattle

Today we will be talking about a window rattle sound I have noticed on my 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road Hybrid.

8/20/2024 UPDATE. I went to the Toyota dealership so far they took off the door pannel and tightened everything up, added foam and padding to all the doors. I took it home tonight and the rattle still exists, not as loud or often as it was in the video but still there. I am able to duplicate the rattle sound by turning slightly left between 25mph and 50mph. I'll be dropping it off at the dealership tomorrow or the next day for further diagnostics.

I have a 2024 honda accord hybrid, very different car obviously but has a rattle which sounds exactly the same but its on the passenger side window and its in the top corner where it meets the b-pillar

My 2024 sequoia did the same thing. The glass was very lose. I traded it for a trail hunter last week…. It does the same thing. Actually… this Tacoma has more ticks and rattles at 250 miles than what my sequoia did at 6300 miles. That’s Toyota quality for you.

My 24 Tacoma Off-Road started with the same rattle today with 3, 100 miles and came to YouTube to see if anyone else had the issue. Interior is a lot quieter than my 3rd gen so only minor annoyance. Will address with dealer at 5k service. Thanks for the video---I will watch for your update.

Sounds a lot like the tick I had which was on the rear doors. I actually have purchased 3 - 4th gen Tacomas and they all had a tick in the same spot. Sounds like its right by your ear but was actually the rear doors. About midway up on the forward edge of the rear doors right above the speaker there is a horizontal seam in the door panel where the plastic of the door panel is split from the top part and bottom part. If you push on it or tap it you can hear a tick and sometimes under driving it can me quite audible. I slit a piece of 1 inch cloth/felt underneath that panel and it stopped. Might not be your issue but you should check it.

The fluttering of the hood on the 24 was the deal breaker for me.😳

Probably not what you're dealing with but, my truck makes an incredibly annoying rattle after someone rides in the passenger seat. Every time afterward I hear an annoying sound only to realize it's the seat belt buckle not laying flat and smacking off of the plastic pillar. Hope the dealer figures your out.

when i partially roll the rear windows down they are like so loose in the tracks, can move them like they are going to fall out, i've only got 2000kms so i am sure i will be hearing all kinds of noises with all the cheap plastic and poor quality control on these

Following and Subscribed for the answer. Please follow up with the fix. Funny this video was recommended to me and I did not search out Tacoma Rattles. But my 24 SR5 Tacoma has this exact same rattle with a little over 1000 miles on it. I was wondering what it was the other day when I was on a drive!

I couldn’t hear it in your video, but it’s typical year one problem from new model, give it to the dealer + let them figure it out + fix it. I’m sure other Tacoma’s have the same problem and Toyota will issue a TSB to fix it. The pieces around the door shouldn’t have that much play or give in my opinion. Don’t loose sleep over it, nice neighborhood you live in.

My 2024 Tundra limited TRD off road iForce MAX on front driver side window rattle noise that came from two window seal rubbing causing rattle noise and my dealer on order a new seals to replace. still waiting for seals.

Probably a wire or cable that needs secured or needs some foam around it

One of the many reasons I dumped my 2019 Tacoma just after warranty was due to all the rattles, creaks and pops from all the interior plastics. Too many issues with QDR. I couldn’t imagine spending $52K+ for a new one and having the same issues.

I definitely heard it. Annoying. For the price you pay for this truck should be buttoned up and tight....c'mon Toyota!!!

That sound is pretty noticeable. I have a 24’ TRD Sport and haven’t noticed any noticeable rattling. Please update with the issue and fix.

Another thing to note, this rattle did not exist for the first month I had this truck. Just started happening randomly one day and has been intermittently happening since then for the last 3 weeks or so.

Sadly we can't post images in YT comments, but I'm stumped how much difference in quality of trims between a 2000 Tundra and 2024 Tacoma, a world of difference. Even after 25yr in North (Canada), the trim of my 2000 Tundra sits firmly to the door and windows, witout any loose whatsover. I'm looking to your trim and you can see the loose plastic, I can't believe Toyota went that route over the years. What the heck happened to Toyota!
