This is one of the better tests I've seen. When you test in "real world conditions", people complain that there are too many variables. When you test in controlled conditions such as in this video, people complain that it's an inaccurate representation of real driving conditions; there's no helping these people. This video provides an enormous amount of information to those able to interpret the results, so I thank you for taking the time to make and edit the info, and providing the graphic representation of what is happening. 10/10. I don't think the video supports that either system is "superior", it simply shows how the two systems work similarly, and where there are differences.

This test covers only some parts of what an awd system should do. In this test at any time you are having some wheels with 100% traction and the others with 0% traction. BMW having a more electrical AWD system can split better the torque between wheels. Audi for C7 has a mechanic AWD system so it’s not so precise in this test. But what happens when you have partial traction on all 4 wheels, like on rain or mud or snow? This is actually the most common situation.

I have a XDrive. It's doesnt't matter for me XDrive or Quattro. Both is good.

Both did a good job. Torsen in Audi was just the best in T1 type era where you could manually lock the rear diff :-) long ago...

Nice comparison
Which system is the X drive using, is it similar to Subaru's
Which 4 WHD layout is used by BMW?

Not a fan of either, but clearly BMW has the better system. If you watch the posters other video comparing VW and Audi (both VAG products) it's clear that their system has trouble or is incapable of transferring power from one side of the axle to the other. X-Drive, at least in this model here can transfer power in such a manner, perhaps with the help of LSDs

Off topic!
I have an audi a3 2010 quattro with haldex and i read on internet and lot of people tell me its only two wheel drive most of the time, and only when I lost grip on front wheels i will have all 4 wheels working. But i have a problem with the drive shaft that caused a vibration when back wheels working, and any time I accelerate even on highway on dry, I feel that vibration s-o I know its working not only when i drive on snow or mud and I lost grip. Maybe on constant speed its only two wheels drive but then dont need the extra consuption. What I don't understand about my car and maybe somebody know its if i go down hill and there its ice, when my front wheels start to slip because of the engine brake, back wheels will be also engaged în the engine brake? ...Fun thing, I like to drive pretty fast and I like to try the car, and if I go constant with 80km/h în a curve that I know vere well, the car understeer (its an audi :)), but if I accelerate I can go with over 90km/h, and the car its perfectly balanced, not understeer, not oversteer, its really grip like crazy

And there you have it!
No fanboy video with drifting Audis and BMWs with summer tires stuck in snow...
This is objective.
Quattro is NOT the best.
Thanks for that video!

I always thought quattro was better but this test proves otherwise.

Lol, having to spin for that long to finally have the computer figure it out to get traction would mean having to get a shovel to dig yourself out. Trying to cheap out $100 by using open diffs and using software is really disappointing.

I got stuck with one tire in sand last week in my nissan xterra in 4wd. Turns out I was supposed to gas it and wait for the computer to figure it out and risk getting stuck. In my older truck, it used a clutch style LSD that worked proactively and I never had anything like that happen. It just worked, because nissan hadn't cheaped out yet by trying to use software to overcome crappier hardware.
