My personal experience, 2002 Acura MDX with 3.5 V6 engine out of my garage with 7 inches snow, it stuck and couldn't get out, 2004 Audi A4 Quattro with 3.0 V6 engine out of the next garage same deep snow, it went straight to the roadway and took me to work without struggle, and it happened about 10years ago.

this audi commercial did some good for the bmw. everyone knows that in winter is way more fun go around a corner sideways like a drift king. 😉

i owned both of audi and bmw, it's exactly what happen. you can't comprehend quattro until you try. incredible

OK, I'd like to dispel some of the complaining about the BMW not doing the cone slalom correctly. I will say this. I have driven the Audi S5 and the BMW 435i with XDrive. Both cars are beautiful, and I would drive either one. The BMW was more of a sporty drivers car imo. IIt handled a little better on a road course with less body roll, etc. Braking felt a little better too.
The Audi S5 felt heavier, was slightly smoother and quieter with more body roll, not as sporty feeling. However, on bad roads the Quattro system is definitely set up a little better with the torque vectoring and better stability control on ice or snow.
Without a doubt, Audi and Subaru both have the best AWD systems on the market right now.

I hope they have the same types of tires, otherwise these tests are completely meaningless...

lol! that last test. driver clearly has a bias. turns way too hard for the bmw and merc but with the audi just drove straight. look at the distance to the cone when he turns

On the slalom comparison, it can be clearly seen that the rear wheels have a higher torque than the front wheels, which can be seen in the fact that the front wheels look literally pushed out of their way, which means they do not dictate the tempo. X-drive should be set in extreme conditions 70% front / 30% rear torque.

you can see that this is so rigged. in the last test, the driver purposely turned the wheel super hard on the BMW, then added full throttle while turning lock to lock. I could have made a better one myself that is not biased. Nice Audi commercial btw.

The Steering Wheel of the Audi is being turned in way more softer than the BMW's and Mercedes

on the up hill snow test just at the very end you can see where the driver of the quatro was pretty soft on the acceleration and on the second turn he cut it closer to the cones to make sure the tail didnt whip out. with the other two cars he accelerated harder on the second turn varing further from the cones and cut it back pretty harshly to make sure the tail end on noth the merc and the bmw lashed out..

Favorizovan audijev quatrro sistem.
Vidi se da je namešteno da Audi pobeđuje jer ima zimske gume.
Ostala dve auta sa letnjim gumama.

I can tell on all of these they are purposefully making bigger turns and pushing the Merc and BMW harder where they are keeping the audi at it's threshold to perform better

Watch
this has to be one of the worst attempts to fool people through an infomercial
at 2:59
it is so obvious that the audi driver start cornering earlier and with
less input, while merc and bmw drivers were turning the wheel at the
last moment and much more than audi
at 3:50
it is so obvious that the audi is doing the circle with steady gas,
while bmw and merc drivers are mushing the gas pedal to the floor to
lose control on purpose, you can even see the snow from the rear tyres
fly
at 6:20 the audi driver barely touches the gas, while bmw and merc drivers step on it and lose control ofc

pathetic

I think it is pretty normal what we see here: the Merc and BMW are usually rear-drive cars, which has a meaningful influence on the way their 4WD systems work, especially in the case of BMW, which is the "sporty" one, and it must feel like a oversteering car.. However, I am not sure whether this test is masked Audi commercial..

I actually enjoy Xdrive, Quattro and 4matic, but this is obviously biased towards Quattro. The minute the driver steps into the Bmw or Mercedes they purposely drive bad. Definitely fake.

Thanks for the info, I will definately go for bmw since it can do drifting effortlessly, nice vid.

Several of these tests do NOT show the intrinsic qualities of a 4 wheel drive system, but the difference in tires and DSC/ESP systems. A 4WD system is a TRACTION system. And NOT a grip system (like demonstrated on the circle).

Давайте согласимся что xdrive 4matic будут хуже quattro так как у ауди изначально идут ралийные корни и с того времени он остаётся лучшим( не в обиду меринам и бумерам) это если рассуждать в плане привода
