Something just not looking right with that 1/4 round on top of that corner piece. @ 10:00 I think I would have used "inside corner" moulding instead.

Hey Mike - I was hanging some chair rail over beadboard and when I mitered the chair rail with a lip - the corners were
way off. I went through a bunch of youtube videos, which didn't work for me. Then your simple advice to put
a 1/4" slate behind the chair rail to keep it level in the miter box worked like a charm. It was driving me nuts.

I'm trying to figure out how to cut the very same trim at a 45. Its running across the top like in the video but im running into a window and I need to 45 it down to the butt up to the window seal. I cant get a measurement. What's bad is I've done it before years ago and cant remember

What do you call the chair rail with that relief..special name? I know it's rabbeted..but how do you search for product like that? Also, just personal, but I think I would have scarfed that joint instead of a butt joint. IMHO. Still it looks good!
