Life inherently involves risk. Relationships are a risk, at least emotionally, for everyone. Without risk there cannot be reward. if a man is risk averse, to the point that they're shunning dating or relationships, then they should seek professional help, to move forward in life. also he should either tell his intimate partner/date this very thing, so someone else doesnt get hurt, or not engage potential partners.

All of my friends are men and despite their differences, all of them seems to like those things you said. You're right. Validation and admiration are what you called respect. I never lied about anything but during my few relationships I did went out with other men and I never hide anything. Unfortunately, all men I know always cheat lie and never admit nothing they do even when they are desperate in love. And if I dare to demand some loyalty (tell the truth) they accuse me - "I man can have sex with someone they don't care about" ... To explain that if "their women are fulling around she's in love with other man or is a bitch. And even if they don't really think that way, they'll keep yelling. Apparently, when a man fell in love with a woman who are not madly in love with him, they get more obsessed and admiration respect and truth are not enough. I really enjoy a male a company but I prefer honesty.
