does it do record on an compact vhs handy cam with a broken tape mechanism

Yes these are pretty good gadgets, but be warned the first version of this device has a few video quality faults, for one a darker quality of video capture than the original.

Digitnow replaced the first edition with an upgraded version that has resolved the problem.

Bad news is there are lots of the first versions still being sold online by third party sellers, an additional problem to this is there is no way of telling just by looking at the packaging to know if it's a first or second edition unit.

The only way to be sure which unit you have is by checking which Firmware it is running.

surprisingly the Firmware upgrade isn't available to download to rectify this issue by yourself, you would need to have the unit physically replaced by Digitnow, I know this because this is what was offered to me by Digitnow.

The faulty first units Firmware number is V102-A V3.7, so if you've got that one, you know what to do, contact Digitnow and have it replaced.

Is yours still working, Mine just doesnt power off or on, after 4 transfers..I have 2 units, did some diagnosing, with no luck? waiting for answer from manufacture, had both for a month..

Can you explain to me the "Sound" sections in the menu, nothing in
manual, when I record it seams to record ambient sound??. I sneezed
during one recording and it picked it up, the connection was HDMI from
my deck..there was a section to "Turn off" sound
recording..strange..Juts received today 2.10.21

OK, another question, im unable to format or use a 128GB card, an
extreme sandisk class 10 as needed. after formatting it says " Pls
format".. tried several different cards with same result...I also have
the clear click model and the 128 works fine on that one..
