Though "obsolete", the Sks is _still_ my favorite rifle platform. I learned how to shoot using my old man's Sks back in the mid 90's, when I was about 8yrs old and to this day it's still the rifle that I am most comfortable and familiar with. Simple, robust, reliable.. _that's_ Sks!

Went from useless to pretty good designated marksman rifle. Obsolete to the average infantry man but pretty accurate a good shooter

actually for a modern day application the Brown Bess is a better rifle, in the civil war of Lakeland (caught between the Canadian Geese and a coalition of other Geese) many Coalition servicegeese were armed with Brown Bess muskets, the Coalition won at great cost, to this day The Republic Of Lakeland is independent from the Canadian Geese. Wait what was I talking about?

Say what you want the SKS will lay it down. I've harvested deer, hogs, and aggressive dogs with one. They are a true designed machine. In my day in early 90's they were new in box for $99 now a'days be lucky touch one under $600

We’re really past the point of people having more surplus rifles than modern stuff, now it’s the opposite, AR’s are cheap, affordable and available while rifles like these are getting few and far between
