Honestly, because of these videos I've actually gotten adept at spotting the queen bee

The little attendants following her around is honestly one of the sweetest things I’ve ever seen.

The queen is the one that says, “Another great day of saving the bees.”

This week a neighbor of mine, who hates bees, found a hive and destroyed it. I was sickened at this thought due to my garden depending on bees. But then a few hours after I was so informed I saw the most amazing thing. On my table which is part of my patio set, there was a small contingent of bees exhibiting the behavior described in this video. I ran in the house to get my glasses and ran back out to see one queen surrounded by about 50 or so bees and they were all just crawling in a circle and some were crawling over her presumably to protect her. So I ran to my wood pile and without ever having seen a bee keepers hive before I built a wood box out of plywood and wood scraps. I don't know if I got it precisely right but inside it's about four cubic feet with one entrance at the bottom of one side of the box and I placed this on top of the legs of an old BBQ grill where I got ride of the top have years ago and didn't have any idea what I would do with the legs until the other day. I made the top with a hinge so I could peek inside from time to time and I put the whole thing smack dab in the middle of my herb garden where most of the flowers in my garden are. The basil is particularly aromatic at this time of year. That was Wednesday. This morning I took a peek inside and found the start of a section of honeycomb hanging from the top. I would have had absolutely no idea what to do for these bees were it not for these videos. I am so grateful that I now have my very own colony. Now my only issue are the hornets that live in the oak tree two properties down. So I am working out a plan where there will be multiple tiny entrances that are just barely large enough for the queen to get in and out of should she decide to leave (I don't wish to keep her a prisoner) but far too small for the hornets. I am interested in other suggestions on how to keep hornets away from my bees. I live in central west Florida along the gulf.

The queen flicking the other bees away with her butt as she’s doing her job is such a mood 💀

I love that she has attendants. Like she is a literal regnant queen, no king needed, just a harem of male bees to help her breed and female bees to get everything done. I love all of that.

I used to be scared to death of bees and especially the sight of them all clumped together at once… but now after watching so many of your videos I find them beyond adorable ❤️❤️😭😭

I love information about bees, not that I will ever need the information. My dad had bees for over 70 years. Now he is 95 and very strong. I like to believe that all the bee products and bee stings keeps him so youthful ❤

Every time I hear your catchphrase it’s like the first time I heard it. Honey to my ears. 😊

I stumbled across a huge Bumblebee a few months ago, I don;t know why I stopped to let her wander up from the pavement to end up on my hand but I did. Very lethargic but pollen laden from the nearby bushes late blooming flowers. Not sure if it was the heat from my body or just her catching a breath but she buzzed off after about 5 minutes cleaning herself up. 5 minutes I am so glad to have spent time with her.

Thank you for all you do. Apart for producing fascinating content, thanks for helping to save our planet, one bee colony at a time ❤ 🐝

A queen bumble bee was in our garden. It was GIANT! But so fluffy at cute, and sooo calm. She seemed weak so we did the trick of sugar and water on a spoon. She drank some then she disappeared. We purposely have a lot of bee friendly flowers so we see quite a lot, but then she came back the next day but there were about 3 little ones following her. We’d recently got a wasps nest removed, but we didn’t want this queen to make a nest bc u can’t remove them if they do where we are (to keep them alive since the numbers r dropping) so my mum very gently picked her up and took her to the forest out the back and placed her down and we haven’t seen her since. The 3 bees followed her and started seeing small bumble bees on the flowers and now there’s a lot more bumble bees that r more fully grown! So hopefully she made a hive ❤️
