Thank you, sir. Helped a lot.
I'm in BSc 2nd year. And my Math lecturer in clg uses the left to right convention. So it bothered me why was he following the wrong procedure. Because fog by that procedure gave one answer while by applying the definition of fog, I.e., f(g(x)) gave another answer. So my friend and I were very much troubled. Even the lecturer didn't clear it up.

But that one sentence of yours *product of permutations has 2 conventions* cleared it up.
